Hangovers and heartache

________________________________________________________________

Polly had made sure she'd soaked up as much time with Michael as she could have.

In fact their little reunion had gone so well that he was planning on taking the train next weekend to spend the weekend with her.

Tommy was still livid. Polly had tipped off David as he bent down to kiss her goodbye that Tommy and Arthur would be in London that weekend.

She'd rather her boys have a heads up then be surprised in case he decided to retaliate and go after their business in London.

Unsurprisingly Devlin didn't seem fazed at all. He'd known apparently because Tommy had a meeting with a mutual co hort.

Polly shook her head. Her nephew and son were so similar, both overly ambitious, stubborn and shared a dislike for the other one. She hoped they never squared off. She wasn't ready to lose either one of her men.

"So, 10pm on Friday night. You'll have a driver pick me up and take me to your other home, right?" Michael seemed a bit nervous shifting on his feet as he reiterated the plan. He wanted to make sure she'd be there.

"Michael, I will show. I won't let my son wander around a strange town, especially at night by himself. I promise." She cupped his rounded face in her hands and left a string of red lipstick marks in her wake. "I'm so glad you came tonight." she added, missing him already.

"I'm glad those two terrifying men over there came to get me." He pointed to his elder brothers who were busy laughing with their cousins and significant others.

"I am too. You are all good boys and I'm so lucky to have you back." She hugged him tightly as the men pulled her away to get their own goodbys established.

"Call when you get home." She ordered them. Her heart ached watching them all load up into one vehicle and speed off down the dirty and dingy streets of Birmingham.

If the opportunity ever came, she may move to London. They'd all spent enough time apart. Now all four of them were together, she'd be damned to let anything else ever tear them apart. Thomas Shelby included.

All 4 of them are together. Do I keep going or end it here? I could still tell the story and enrich the world but I'm gauging interest.
