Zodiac - Crossing Stars

"Wha- where am I?" I groaned
I looked up and saw Zack he was enjoying his Ben and Jerry ice cream, my head was on his lap.

"Do you usually faint in the middle of the road when a car is coming towards you?" He took another scoop of the ice cream

"No, it just happens" I said as I got up

Zack started looking concerned

" I have syncope it's a unknown fainting condition caused by low blood pressure or emotional stress or-"

"Is everything ok back at home? I mean you family" he asked

"Family? I don't have I family" I began to get angry until Zack said the following sentence

"Same my parents died and my older brother is nowhere to be found"

"No I don't mean it in that wa-" I was trying to finish my sentence but the look in Zack's eye made my think.

"I don't have a family" I started to lie "i hardly knew my mom and dad I was the only child"

Zack held my hand. I looked at my hand, it was clinching onto mine then I looked at his eyes it was full of tears and regret. My cheeks turned red

It felt like it was going on for a couple of minutes.

"Oh sorry it's just I get so emotional that I start to cry like a big baby" he removed his hands from mine and wiped his tears

I smiled.

"Who knew you had a sensitive side?"
I caught sight of his ice cream since I didn't have any breakfast I was kinda hungry

"Are you going to share that ice cream?"
He passed me a spoon and we both shared it.

"It is said that capricorn like brownie cookie blast for ice cream"

I looked at him
"I don't like that. Right now I'm enjoying this flavour"

He turned the container and it said brownie cookie blast

"Told ya" he said as he was licking his spoon.

"Ok Mr horoscope guy what's your sign?"

"Virgo" he replied

"What's you favourite ice cream flavour?"

He looked in the sky

"Mint chip"

"How come you didn't get your flavour?" I asked

"Because something told me i was going to meeting you" he looked down at the ice cream tub

I looked at him and blushed.

"Well are you doing anything this summer?" I asked

"I'm going in a road trip by myself I was suppose to go with my friends but they bailed at the last minute"

I took another scoop of ice cream

"Unless you want to come?" He asked

"Me?!" I said with my my full, I swallowed the ice cream "well I don't know-"

"Come on it will be a blast! Look I know I just met you but I don't want to go on my own!"

I rolled my eyes

"I will ask my mum" I said

There was a pause

"Mum?" Zack asked

"Urm I mean my child carer she looked after me as I was growing up we got closer throughout the years, she felt like a mother to me" I lied through my teeth

He nodded his head

"Her name is..." Oh just shut up Kenzie you already lied don't make it bigger "Suzanne" I finish my sentence

"Suzanne is a wonderful name, that is the name of my auntie. She looks after me"

I smiled

He got up and looked at me

"I'll be waiting for you answer until then fair well me lady" he mocked as he was bowing down

I laughed

"Yes very good handsome sir" I joked

"Handsome?..." He questioned

"Well I mean urm-"

"...I hear that all the time" he laughed and walked away.

His so annoying!

I don't know why I had to lie to him i mean I felt sorry for him and I didn't want him to feel alone, alone in this hurtful world.

I'm not a liar.

Period.

I walked to my house and knocked on the door

It opened

My mum looked and walked away from the door

I slowly walked in and close the door behind me and ran upstairs I don't think we are talking for a while
