I woke up with a bright light shining in my face. I looked around and saw that I was in the hospital. There was an iv in my hand and a bag of fluid running through it. I stared at the huge bandage on my arm. It was the size of peach. I felt my neck and there was a bandage around it. Someone knocked on the door.
"Abby, are you awake yet?", a kind voice asked."Yes, come in", I replied kind of hazily. A tall slim woman with dark brown hair and light blue eyes walked in.
"Well, I see someone's feeling better. I'm doctor Jade", she greeted. I shook her hand softly and she looked at my charts.
"Can you tell me what happened?", I asked.
"Well, I heard that you were found in an alley knocked unconscious. You were bruised up pretty badly and you were covered in blood. Then a man found you and brought you here. He said he was your fiance. He came everyday so far. He'll be here in a little while", Jade replied. Fiance? I never got engaged. I looked at my ring finger and there was a diamond ring on it. I thought long and hard about it. The man in the alley. He said something about marriage and how he would always find me.
"Okay. Everything seems to be okay. Do you need anything?", the doctor asked."No. I'm fine. I'm just gonna rest for a little while", I replied. She walked out and someone else came in.
"Hey babe", he said."You! You're the reason why I'm in here!", I yelled.
"Oh come on. You know you love it here. Free snacks, you have people waiting on you hand and foot. This is the life", he said sarcastically.
"You know, for someone to be this cruel and ruthless, you didn't even tell me your name", I said.
"It's Kyle. And cruel, ruthless? I mean come on, I'm not that bad once you get to know me", he said.
"You put me in the hospital. I think you've passed cruel and ruthless. You're a monster", I said.
"Ohh, attitude. Fiery and feisty. I like it", Kyle said.
"Whatever. Why are you here and what the heck do you want?", I asked a little impatient.
"Well, I came to check on my bride, and see how your transformation process is going", he replied.
"Well, considering that you did this to me, I don't see why you're concerned. After all, you're cruel, heartless and soulless", I shot at him. He walked over to the book and touched my forehead.
"Ah. Your transformation is almost complete".
"Well, once it's over, I'm leaving", I stated.
"Oh you can't. I have vampires guarding the exits. They know not to let you leave unless I'm with you. Then, when we get to our house, you will get ready for the wedding".
"You can't make me do that".
"Of course I can. I'm the most powerful vampire in history. So, you have no choice". I stared at him blankly.
"You know what. Fine. Whatever. After the wedding, you will let me go".
"No. I won't. I'm time, you will learn to love me. Trust me", he said. He went and say down then one of the nurses came in with the doctor.
"Okay Abby. You're free to go", the doctor said writing down a prescription. The nurse was taking the iv out my hand. The doctor gave the paper. Two tylenol every six hours in any pain occurs, a cream to heal my bruises, and a bayer aspirin to lower my heart rate and blood sugar. I got out of the bed and saw I was in a hospital gown. The nurse and doctor walked out with Kyle right behind them. I found my clothes in a bag and got dressed quickly. I walked out the room with the paper in my pocket walked into the hallway.
"Now that they have released you, you have to come with me", Kyle said. He held my hand and dragged me out to the exit and we walked to his car. I stood by the passenger side while he unlocked the door. I climbed in and it smelled like roses and cinnamon. I put my seat belt on and we took off.
"Why are you doing this", I asked breaking the silence."Taking you to my house. What kind of couple would we be if we lived in seperate houses?", he asked.
"I know you did not just call me your mate", I said kinda mad.
"Okay. My bride to be then".
"No. First of all, you didn't propose, second of all, when we met, you left me in an alley to die, third you took me to a hospital cause you were so called worried about me", I said.
"You would've said no so I had to force you into it. I have to have a mate at my age. In case you're wondering, I'm only a hundred years old". Okay, this crazy. I'm so not marrying this lunatic. We pulled up in his driveway and I saw a huge brick house. A built in from the ground up pool and a big patio.
"Well, I see someone likes the house", Kyle commented. He must've caught me staring. Once he parked the car, we got out and he led me inside. The inside was even more beautiful. It looked like it came from one of those fix my house shows. There was marble floor, stone walls, a chandelier and beautiful paintings. He gave me a tour and I mesmerized where everything was.
"Okay, I'm surprised that you can afford a house like this but I'm still mad at you", I said."Youll learn to love me. Don't worry", he said looking into my eyes.
"Why are you looking at me?", I asked.
"Well, I can tell looking through your eyes that you're not going to hate me forever. In about a week, you'll start falling for me", he replied.
"Yeah right. And you'll win the lottery", I said sarcastically walking away.
