Our song

Gemini hadn't expected to feel this way.

Standing in the corner of the reception hall, his glass of wine forgotten in his hand, he could hardly focus on anything but the one person who stood across the room. The wedding was beautiful, filled with laughter and joy, but all he could see was Fourth.

Even after all these years, Fourth still took his breath away. The deep blue of his suit was perfect against his pale skin, the way his hair fell slightly longer than before framing his face with effortless elegance. His features had matured, grown softer but still as breathtakingly pretty as the day they had first met.

Gemini didn't want to feel this way. He had thought he was over it—over him—but hearing their song playing softly through the speakers made everything crash back into him. He hadn't realized how much he'd buried those feelings, or how much he still wanted him until this very moment.

"Gemini, you're staring."

Gemini blinked, breaking his gaze from Fourth to look at his best friend, Mark. His smirk was knowing, but his tone was teasing.

"You still haven't gotten over him, huh?" Mark asked.

A sigh slipped out of Gemini's mouth. "I thought I had," he admitted, rubbing a hand over his forehead. "But seeing him again... it's like no time has passed at all."

Mark raised an eyebrow. "Then you should go talk to him."

Gemini's heart sank at the thought. "I don't know if that's a good idea."

But Mark wasn't the type to let anyone off the hook easily. With a playful shove, he directed Gemini toward the bar. "It's now or never. You owe it to yourself."

Gemini's breath caught as his feet moved of their own accord, carrying him across the room toward Fourth. The closer he got, the faster his pulse quickened. When Fourth finally saw him, his smile was cautious, warm yet tinged with something else—a silent question. A long-lost familiarity.

"Gemini," Fourth's voice was soft, the voice that held the power to melt his heart. "I didn't expect to see you here."

"Neither did I," Gemini answered with a faint smile, his throat dry. "But here we are."

There was something unspoken between them, a quiet weight, like an entire history lingering in the air, neither of them quite sure how to address it.

Their song filled the room, and Gemini's heart skipped a beat. The soft melody, so familiar, carried a thousand memories—whispers, touches, promises—they were theirs.

Fourth's gaze drifted to the dance floor, the couples moving in time with the music. He looked back at Gemini, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.

Fourth's lips parted slightly. "Our song," he whispered underneath his breath, barely loud enough to hear.

As if a silent agreement passed between them, Gemini stepped forward, gently extending his hand.

"May I have this dance?" Gemini asked, his voice quiet, his heart racing in his chest.

Fourth looked at him for a moment, his eyes wide, searching Gemini's expression for something—answers, reassurance, maybe even the same longing he could feel burning between them. Then slowly, with a deep breath, he nodded.

"Okay," Fourth whispered, placing his hand in Gemini's.

The touch was light, but it sent an electric jolt through both of them. Fourth's breath hitched, his body freezing for just a moment, before he let out a soft, almost inaudible sigh.
