Figure me out? Yeah Ashton, good luck with that. I'd say I'm a pretty hard egg to crack.

The days has gone quickly this week and it's finally Saturday morning and I'm sitting in a small coffee shop on a corner in town, alone, writing a paper for English.

We were just given the statement 'write about something you love' I love a lot of things. We have until the end of the year to finish this, so I'm doing one mock up now. This counts as 80% of our final grade this year and I'm not about to fail.

I stuff my half crumpled piece of paper into my back and slung it across the left shoulder before putting on my hat and bringing myself into the cold air on this Saturday morning. It's freezing, my nose is red along with my cheeks and my foundation does nothing for my already pale complexion.

Slam
I was knocked into the wall coming round the corner and turned around to watch a couple of boys dart in every direction except mine. Apart from one
Before I'd got to look at his face I had to quickly grasp onto my nose with two cupped hands in sudden realisation of a nose bleed

This is absolutely great

I hurry off back into the coffee shop being followed closely behind by this boy while I was passed over a box of tissues and told to sit down and pinch the bridge of my nose.
There he was. Ashton. Stood right in front of me with a worried look on his face
"Look I'm so so-

"Save it, I'm fine" I gave a smile

I could just about see the coffee stain down my coat

There goes 50 pounds as I would say when I lived in England

"I bought you a coffee to replace your old one and I'm going to walk you back to your dorm" he stated

"Listen I'm fine I just-

I was cut off while standing up holding onto my tissue tightly against my nose as I felt a bit dizzy due to the wall also coming into contact with my forehead

He grabbed my arm and linked it with his

"About that help?" He giggled
He giggled
He fucking giggled
So far, this whole 'no boy' rule isn't working for me, thankyou Ashton.

_____________

Shortly after we'd arrived in my room and I was currently lying on my bed next to Ashton just staring at the ceiling. He hasn't left for an hour. Or spoke in that fact

"I'm really sorry" his voice cracked a bit

"I'm fine, it's all good" I reassured

"No I mean for not leaving yet, the boys aren't in we were on our way to a party when I knocked you over so I have no one else to be with and I don't fancy being alone" he stated

"You don't have to explain yourself to me and it's okay the company's good" I smiled to myself

"So um how are you finding America so far?" He questioned

"Well, I'm finding it" I smirked at my smart answer

"That's funny" he said in a hushed tone

"It's just a big place and I don't have anyone I'm comfortable with or know so I don't know, I'll get through it" I said sadly

"You know me though hey?" He nudged my shoulder sitting up a bit and leaning to the side propping up on his shoulder to face me

"You always look so afraid to talk to me like you're afraid of saying too much" he looked concerned

"Or too little" I muttered

"I know we didn't get off to a great start but I'd like us to be friends if I'm honest" he said

"Me too Ashton, me too" I sighed

"Am I missing something?" he looked confused

"We can't, this is exactly what he said and he wasn't up to any good so how can I trust anyone else" I raised my voice "I also fell for him and he was so-
I cried

Ashton did the human thing. Compassion. He sat up and brought me into his chest and we just lay there for a while.
He seems a good guy, maybe we can be friends? As long as I don't fall im safe, I told myself.

"Sorry" I quickly got up off the bed and wiped my eyes sitting on the end.
"So tell me a bit about yourself" I finished

He shuffled towards the end of the bed to sit by me obviously sensing a touchy topic and left it at that

"I'm Ashton Cole" he said "I'm just me" he sounded a bit sad

"I don't mean to sound conceded but a lot of girls like me. But only want me for the one night stand. I may look like that type of guy who would jump at the chance for one but no I'm really not" he continued
"And that's all I'm saying for now" he smirks

If this is his blackmail in cracking my story I doubt it would work
Even though I'm intrigued. Damn

It's currently 2pm

"Lunch?" He asked

Next thing I knew we were out the door.

_______

The next weeks were like heaven for me. I had a best friend. With a funny story of meeting to tell whoever I meet along the way
My photography classes were getting interesting and I hadn't even had to think about my English paper for a while, which also helped me relax having nothing to worry about just now
All my other subjects were like non the less, homework after pieces of homework yet it didn't bother me, I was always on top of my work gladly.

I'd spoken to mum and she's quite happy with my situation right now as am I.

I think finally Connor isn't a problem for me, I've accepted what he did and he can't take it back and neither can I no matter how much I wish I could.

My phone rang bringing me out of my thoughts
'Green eyes' took over my screen
I answered

"Ashton?" I spoke

"Bec, can you maybe come to the field at the back of campus?" He sounded rushed

"What's wrong?" I was now concerned

"Life" he then ended the call

And off I went.
