Early the next morning, Mu Xingchen and Zhan went to the orcs' gathering point. He forced Zhan to drink the medicine with him and added new water to it. After persuading the orcs to drink the medicine as usual, Mu Xingchen picked up two flints and went home first.
Zhan did not come back with him, he had to go hunting with other orcs in the tribe. Although the other side of the mountain was full of various herbivorous and carnivorous animals, and the orcs did not need to bother hunting, they still went hunting at a fixed time every day, and would not bring back too much prey. The prey they brought back each time was just enough for the tribe to share.
After returning home, Mu Xingchen first folded the animal skin he had slept on last night and hung it on a rack to dry. He then lit the fire in the stove and added some firewood to the fire before continuing to clean up the weeds and gravel in the house.
He originally wanted to throw away the gravel and weeds, but now he found that both of them could be spread on the ground. Otherwise, the ground would always be dirty and muddy, which would be really disgusting to live in.
Because a large area had been cleared yesterday, Mu Xingchen quickly cleared out the weeds and gravel in his house today. He tied the wet weeds with vines and placed them aside, and also picked up all the weeds that were used as sleeping mats by the fire and placed them aside.
The weeds that had been spread on the ground overnight were all covered with mud. Mu Xingchen looked at the mud on his body and really didn't want to be dirty every day. He was eager to clean up his house.
Mu Xingchen spread all the gravel and larger stones that were cleared out on the muddy ground in a circle around the fire. When Zhan came back with the divided prey, he had completed half of the work. He did not continue because there were not enough stones and he had to continue picking up stones.
Zhan threw the meat on the ground next to the stone pot and joined the ranks of picking up stones, "Chen, is this kind of stone okay?"
Mu Xingchen looked up at the stone Zhan was holding. "That kind is too sharp. It will hurt your feet." He then raised the stone he had just found to show Zhan, "I want a rounder one like this."
"knew."
The two of them worked in the rain for more than half an hour and returned to the shed with a large pile of stones. Mu Xingchen drove away Zhan, who wanted to help but was making things worse, and said helplessly: "Go pick up some branches."
Zhan watched Mu Xingchen push the stone into the ground, and walked out while muttering, "I can push the stone into the ground, too. Why don't you let me do it?"
Although Zhan would be a hindrance when doing such delicate work, he was still very efficient when it came to collecting firewood. By the time Mu Xingchen had finally covered all the areas covered by the shed with stones, there were already piles of wet branches next to it, and there were even a few broken thick tree trunks, which could be cut and burned for several days.
Mu Xingchen ran under the rain to wash the dirt off his body, then went back to the shed again, picked up the weeds that he had just moved aside and slowly spread them on the ground. There were stones underneath, so the weeds on top would not get wet so easily after they dried.
Of course, it is best to lay a layer of wooden boards on top after laying the weeds.
However, Mu Xingchen did not plan to make it so nice. After all, this home was only temporary and he would not be able to live here forever. If he made it too nice, he would be reluctant to leave when he left.
Finally, he spread the freshly baked and dried animal skin on the pile of weeds. Mu Xingchen rubbed the mud on his feet outside onto the weeds he had just picked up for wiping his feet, then walked on the animal skin and lay down to feel it. It was very comfortable and dry.
