It would be impossible for Zhan and Mu Xingchen alone to drag home a tree that was so huge that it would take several people to hug it. So they chose a slightly smaller tree, took it home, kept the main trunk to make a bed, and cut off all the branches and twigs on it to make them into firewood.
As soon as he got home, Mu Xingchen started cooking. Because Zhan had brought back a lot of fat meat in the past two days, he asked Zhan to make a few stone pots. Now there were six stone pots in the house.
One stone pot is used to store boiled water, one stone pot is used to cook rice, one stone pot is used to boil oil, one stone pot is used to store rice, and the remaining two stone pots are all used to store oil.
The stone pot used to hold oil is made relatively thin, and Mu Xingchen also specially asked Zhan to make the bottom of the stone pot flat, so there is no need to worry about it falling over when placed at home.
After dinner, Mu Xingchen went to pick rice with a stone bowl in his arms. A lot of the rice had fallen due to the rain. If he didn't pick it now, it would rot in the field in a few days. After he picked it, he had to put it next to the fire to dry it a little, otherwise it would go bad if left for too long.
The stone bowl was not big enough, so Mu Xingchen ran back and forth several times before picking all the rice. He peeled the rice and put it on a wooden board. He chose a corner far away from the fire and put down the board full of rice. Then he ran into the rain to help Zhan deal with the tree that had just been dragged back.
Seeing Mu Xingchen coming over, Zhan frowned and drove him away, “Go back, I don’t need your help.”
"Two people will make it faster."
Seeing that Mu Xingchen not only did not leave, but instead quickened his pace to walk over, Zhan immediately glared at him unhappily, "Your hand is broken."
"It's just a little skin breakage, it's okay."
Mu Xingchen had been busy these past two days with the orcs opening up the fields, and his palms were so tired that the skin was rubbed off. But he felt that the orcs should be more tired than him, as they did more work, and it was just a few minor bruises that would not affect their work at all.
Mu Xingchen walked to Zhan's side and saw that Zhan had already cut down most of the thick branches. Under Zhan's increasingly fierce eyes, he said helplessly: "Then I will move some things."
Zhan's expression finally eased, "Yeah."
The thick branches on the ground had to be chopped off before they could be used as firewood. Mu Xingchen didn't chop them here. He picked up all the thick branches and dragged them home. He put them outside the shed and began to use his fingernails to cut the thick branches into pieces of length suitable for burning.
Soon the area next to the stove was filled with firewood again, but now there was so much firewood that the small space next to the stove was not enough to store more firewood. If more firewood was piled, it would fall into the rain.
Mu Xingchen turned his head and looked at other places in the house. Because of the addition of several stone pots, the house was almost full. There was really no place to stack more firewood, so he could only pile the unprocessed branches and thick trunks in the rain.
Looking at the crowded shed, Mu Xingchen was eager to build another bedroom and a room to store miscellaneous items. When he returned to Yu Findzhan again, he immediately expressed his idea of building two more sheds.
Zhan asked doubtfully, "Why do we need to build a special shed for sleeping?"
"That's called a bedroom." Mu Xingchen thought about how to explain it to Zhan. After thinking it over, he finally came up with a reason that Zhan could accept immediately. "If we build a bedroom, no matter when we want to have sex in the future, other orcs won't see it."
