Her name, was Fleur Augustin. She was the daughter of a brittish baron. Sent to live in France, for the sake of marriage. Yet in her opinion France was a completely different planet, and the french men were pompous snobs. Who only cared for wine and food. Not for the adventures she sought around the castle of Versailles. The year was 1766 and France was surely blooming. Any girl would dream of living in such a palace as Versailles, yet Fleur felt rather out of place. She didn't want to stay within the castle grounds all her life. It was too closed off, and far too boring for her. The man whom she was meant to marry made things worse. Much worse. He was, in Fleur's opinion, a fat cow who only cared for wine and female company. Yet he had much money. And that made her parents plan quite clear. Of course it was as clear as a winter morning. They wanted the money, and the man had taken a fancy for Fleur. Yet he didn't feel love, and neither did she. She wished away, far away from the dull life she had. She spent full evenings locked up in her room sitting in the window, gazing longingly up at the stars. The night that came to change her life started out just as any other. With her intent and longing stargazing. Her head rested against the cool glass. She let her gaze wander from star to star. Passing over to the moon every once in a while. That's when she heard it. A strange noise, like a machine. It sounded nothing like anything she'd heard before. Curiosity took hold of her and she looked up to gaze around the room. Nothing. She sighed in disappointment and stood up. She walked over to the large mirror, by her wardrobe. Studying her pale complexion. Her golden blond hair that shifted with a slight strawberry red. Her big eyes and lovely lips, that were always curled in a smile. She decided with a sigh that it was time for bed. And took off her wonderfully beautiful dark blue dress. It was much embellished with stones and embroidery. She loosened up the corset and changed into her nightgown. Slipping into her bed she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

She woke up by the kind of thudding noise that only accidentally banging your foot against a rather large solid object creates. Fleur sat up quickly and opened her mouth to scream. Yet she was stopped, by the palm of a hand pressed firmly against her mouth. Her eyes widened, trying to adjust to the darkness. She could make out the shadow of a man. "please don't scream" he said. "It'll be bad enough for us both to get caught me caught by guards" he added. Fleur raised her hand to his, squeezing it gently as if to tell him she would shut up. He removed his hand and went to light a candle with some strange device that Fleur had seen nothing like in her entire life. "What are you doing in my bedroom at this hour? " she demanded. "Oh you know, chasing a shadow" the man replied. "A shadow?" She asked. This man surely had to be mad! One couldn't chase a shadow! The man nodded absentmindedly before dashing over to one of the walls of her room. He flicked the swich to some device. "Aha! Gotcha!" He said triumphantly. Stepping away from the wall. Fleur could see the dark shadow of a man with a knife in his hand. "What is that?" She asked calmly, yet fear hinted through her voice. "I told you, a shadow" he smiled, obviously pleased with himself. "Who are you if I may ask?" He then asked. Muttering something about her seeming familiar. "I am Fleur Augustin" Fleur said and the man nodded. As if recognizing her. "Now may I ask the same for you?" She added, the man before her was indeed strange. And Fleur found him quite intriguing. "John Smith, police" he said pulling out a leather 'cardholder' with a blank sheet of paper in it, flashing it like a badge. "Monsieur, that paper is blank, are you playing tricks on me?" She asked rather amused at the way his face twisted into confusion. "Of course not" he muttered. "Now I must bid you a good night" he then added quickly. "Oh and stay away from that servant boy with the creepy smile" he said before heading towards her window. "Wait. " Fleur commanded. "Before you leave, tell me. Who are you really?" She asked. He opened her window. "I'm the doctor" he replied with a grin. And before Fleur had the chance to ask more he leapt out of her window. "Doctor Who?" She asked out loud, yet there was no reply.
