           12. Asking

Harley's POV

As I watched Kat and Fox I now understood why Karley told me to ask Kat to be my maid of honour. But also seeing the way Kat was with me proved how much I meant to her.

She was sweet and kind, always making sure if I ever needed her she was there. She got me through so many hard times and when Colby and I first met she took me up her wing.

Helped me. Looked after me.

She helped me start my life here, got me through so many tough times that I couldn't thank her enough.

She was the best friend everyone needed. The one who told you the best advice but ignored it herself. Even though she was smarter then she thought she was, I knew deep down she was the best friend I never had.

In school I never really had friends, I was always called the teachers pet and got bullied. I just wanted good grades and to do well in school and I did, but that also gave me no friends and got bullied.

But Kat, she was the one person who didn't judge me because I was smart.

And she meant the world to me.

"Earth to Harley?" Kat chuckled waving her hand in front of my face.

I shook my head and chuckled, "sorry"

"What was you thinking about?" She asked, popping Fox on his mat and letting him play with his toys seeing as he wasn't begging for milk.

"I've been m-meaning to ask you something" I said, nervous about her answer.

I knew deep down she would say yes, but there was always that twinge of rejection lying in the back of my head.

I got it with Colby all the time. Even though he'd never know that.

But rejection was one thing I feared, after Ben I struggled to trust anyone. Colby proved me wrong, that I could trust people because not everyone would treat me like that.

"What is it?" She questioned sitting back against the sofa giving me a nervous smile.

"Hold on" I said quickly getting up and heading to my bag with all the letters in for people and picking out her letter along with the little bracelet I got from England.

I walked back over, sat next to her and gave her the two items.

She smiled after taking them from me, "it's not my birthday" she chuckled looking at the box.

"It's not f-for that" I laughed getting comfortable on the sofa and waiting for her to open it.

She opened the card first and smiled when she saw the 'Save the Date' and quickly opened it to read it.

Her card was different to the others, it had all the details like the others but at the end was a little paragraph and the question.

Her eyes widened and started to water, "r-really?" She stuttered out as a lone tear fell down her cheek.

I just nodded with a nervous smile on my face.

She laughed and wrapped her arms around me, "yes, yes, yes, a million times yes" she cried out making me breathe a sigh of relief and wrap my own arms around her.

She pulled away and gave me a chuckle, "I was not expecting that, thank you"

I giggled, "I wouldn't h-have anyone else"

She took the box and opened it, revealed two bracelets, one was gold and blue while the other was gold and pink. The gold and blue one had a charm on that said bride and the gold and pink one had a charm that said maid of honour.
