"Your condition is getting worse Kovu," Carlisle says as Kovu lies in the hospital bed, coughing. "You'll need to stay in the hospital until further notice"
"How long do I have doc?" Kovu manages to say.
"Not long...a few months at most" Carlisle said, making Kovu sigh. "I'm sorry Kovu" I waited until he left before turning to him.
"Why wait, I could take your soul now" I smiled as Kovu shook his head.
"No" Kovu sighed. "Why? You're gonna die soon, why suffer?" I scoffed with amusement. "I want to live" I scoffed at that answer. "Death will happen, it will always happen. It's the wonderful part of life"
I smiled as my eyes glowed.
"I know but..please...not yet" Kovu mumbled quietly. I roll my eyes at that. "I don't understand you humans, wanting life right as your life is coming to an end" I sighed as Kovu looked at me.
"You were human once right?" Kovu said as I nodded.
"Then... shouldn't you know that feeling?" Kovu said "Wanting to stay alive for your family...your friends...that special someone?"
"Ha! Of course not!" I laughed at that. "I had one family when I died"
"What about your dad?"
Kovu's statement surprised me. "How did you-" "You mumble in your sleep...when you do sleep," Kovu said. "...That's..." I didn't know what to say, for once.
"You may have been a human a long time ago but you were one...and deep down...you are still one," Kovu said.
I stared at him as he coughed.
Yeah right...I lost my human self a long time ago...and it will never come back.
Never.
"Cath and Doain will keep you company," I said as they entered the room. "Wait! You won't stay?" Kovu said as he sat up, looking at me. "You are my sister"
