We journeyed deeper into the snow biome where the tree I had lived in was. He would constantly pause and glance back to make sure I was still following him. I lagged behind slightly as I took in the beauty of the biome. I tried to ignore the constant moans, hisses, rattling of bones, and the occasional stray moo. The majestic spruce trees grew tall and close together, making it hard to navigate at night. It did provide good protection from the creatures of the night, though.

A sheep ducked underneath the leaves of the trees and plodded over to where a patch of grass sprung up through the layer of snow. It began munching on the grass peacefully, and I pet its head as I passed. The sheep looked up at me, startled, a clump of grass hanging out of its mouth. I smiled at its confused look, and then turned to catch up with Lucas.

We moved from biome to biome as the moon descended from its position and the sun rose to take its place. The day wore on, with few words exchanged. There was one stop underneath the cliff of a large mountain in an extreme hills biome, where we sat and ate lunch. It seems we traveled through every kind of biome, and yet when we reached a jungle biome at the end of the day we were still not done traveling.

"Shall we set up camp, or go on through the night?"

I leaned to the side and looked past him. The jungle biome wasn't very large, and a desert biome came after the jungle. The wide open space of a desert called to the monsters. The jungle was thick, and made it harder for monsters to get to us.

"Let's camp," I decided, grabbing onto some vines that clung to the nearest tree. I climbed up the thick jungle tree as it rose higher and higher. I stopped mid-climb and looked down at Lucas, who stood on the ground and gave me a strange look.

"Coming?" I called down.

He opened his mouth to reply, stopped, opened his mouth again, and then shook his head with a sigh. He began climbing up the vines as well.

I reached the top of the tree and clung to the vines as I pawed at the leaves above me. They eventually broke and allowed me to jump up on top of the canopy of leaves.  I walked to the edge of the canopy and looked out over the jungle.

Sitting down, I pulled my knees to my chest and watched the sun kiss the treetops as it descended. The vines swayed gently in the wind. It was like a scene from a painting.

Huffing and puffing announced the arrival of Lucas. I continued watching the sun set as he made his way over to me. He sat down next to me in silence, and together we watched the sun's light slowly fade away. I shut my eyes and relaxed.

The sound of wood being placed stirred me from my peace. I opened my eyes and glanced behind me to see Lucas placing wooden planks on top of the canopy of leaves.

"What are you doing?"

He looked up at me. "Building a tree house," he placed another block.

"Well, it wouldn't be fair to let you do all the work, now would it?" He chuckled and handed me some of the planks as I made my way over to him.

We built the small shack in the space of a few minutes, an ugly thing that looked like most Minecrafter's first houses do. He tossed me a small bed, which upon placing grew to a normal size. I was on one side of the shack and Lucas the other. Torches decorated the outside of the shack, and two on the inside. He blew these two out now, letting the darkness settle over us.

"Goodnight," he murmured as he wormed his way under his covers.

"Night," I whispered to the wall. The bed was wonderfully cozy, with its warm woolen blanket and soft fluffy pillow. This could not stop my mind from throwing about random thoughts. I worried over everything, and tossed and turned for the longest time. I suddenly remembered a time in the real world, where I would have nights where my mind was filled with thoughts. I would listen to music until my thoughts settled and my eyes would sag.

I smiled at the memory, but the feeling quickly turned. The deep ache in my chest made me shudder. Staring at the jungle-wood ceiling, I silently begged for my rugged white one. The horrid pink walls. The pillow that had long lost its fluff. The comfort of the hand-made quilt.

After months of being trapped in this insane world, I lost it. Hot tears ran down my face and silent sobs wracked my body. I eventually fell asleep with the comfort of the past.
