I was listening right next to the window, and I know Goob is going to tell on me. He's going to tell that I was the idiot who thought that he could keep a secret. Well, I shouldn't blame him. Its technically my fault for even going there to eat the stupid cupcakes in the first place. 

"I was the only one who ate the cupcakes. Nobody else ate them with me or anything like that.", Goob says boldly.

Oh.

So... He didn't blame  me.

"Toodles that's enough playing detective for you. It's almost  bedtime. So now that you've had your fun go to sleep. OK?", Rodger says in a stern voice.

"But Rodger! We're soo close!", replies Toodles whining.

"Goob said  he didn't have any accomplices, so we solved the case. Now go to sleep or I won't allow you to investigate with me."

"Fineee!"

Goob gets up from his seat yawning. "I'm sorry for eating the cupcakes, Rodger. I know nobody would ever expect that from me. I am very sorry!", he says his voice full of guilt.

Huh. I was the one supposed to say sorry. But then again, I never say sorry. And I probably won't. 

That was nice of him. To not be the goody-two-shoes I've always expected him to be. I was walking back to my room when I bumped into Dandy. 

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!", I shout at him. 

... 

No response. He just walks away as I scowl.

Why was there a black color liquid all over his hands?

Meh probably just paint. STILL! HE bumped into ME and didn't even say anything!

For a moment I realized just how stupid I must've looking sitting down on the ground scowling.

I was GOING to get up but Mr. Goody-Two-Shoes was standing in front of me.

Before I could even tell him to go away, he lent his dangly arm in front of me.

"Need any help Shrimpy?", he says smiling in a goofy way.

Before I even knew what I was doing I took his hand and got up.

"Thanks.", I said.

I didn't know if I was thanking him for keeping my secret or for helping me get up but I either way it was awkward.

"Anytime!", he replied grinning

And then he said something that made me stop thinking about anything at all.

"That's what friends do for each other Shrimpy!"

WAIT WAIT WAIT. FRIENDS!?

I've never had any "friends" before. Not counting Finn since I mean he's never really said anything about being friends. We just talk.

Before I could think about anything else about being friends with someone like Goob he says this-

"You're my best friend now! Yay!"

Okay so definitely never had a best friend before but what could possibly go wrong with being the kindest toon's friend while being the most annoying one in the first place?

OK. Lots of things can go wrong. That's what.

goob's pov!

Oh my god! I'm so happy! Shrimpo agreed to be my best friend!

I guess he was just shy after all! I'll help him make more friends and we can both be in the huggers club!

Because well right now I'm the only member.

But then... He didn't really straight up say he was going to be my best friend... He was just quite the entire time. But I'm pretty sure that meant he was thinking about it!

Hey! Maybe I could host a hangout! Or BETTER YET! A SLEEPOVERR!

Now then... All I have to do is think about who to invite!

Obviously Shrimpo will be invited because he's now my best friend! Maybe I should invite people who Shrimpo likes!

Then again... He doesn't really like anybody.

Whatever! I'll find people.

Now the most important thing to do is to somehow convince Scraps. I mean I always invite her to my sleepovers but I'm not sure she and Shrimpo will get along much.

I can't believe Shrimpo thanked me! That's like so nice of him!

I am so excited for this sleepover! I was thinking about who to invite when Scraps came inside. "Hiya Goob! You seem excited!", she says cheerfully.

YES, THIS WAS DEFINITELY THE RIGHT TIME TO CONVINCE HER!

"Hi big sis! And yup! I am very very excited!", I tell her.

"Whatcha excited for?", she says grinning at me. I'm so happy she's my big sis! She's the best in the world!

"I'm gonna host a sleepover with Toodles, Finn, Rodger and Shrimpo!", I say trying to smile. I didn't think long enough about who to invite so I just told names of people I know talk to Shrimpo a bit. Oh I do hope she allows!

"Oh! Shrimpo? Did he say yes?", she asks me smiling. I know when her smile is real and when it's fake. I didn't ask Shrimpo yet but this was my only chance! 

"Yes, he agreed along with everyone else.", I said clearly lying.

 "He did?", she asks me questionably.

"Hmm alright. Sad I wasn't invited.", she says in a dull voice and goes away.

I really want her to be happy! BUT I also want to be friends with Shrimpo!

Now I need to make my lies true. Better go ask them!

I've been saying a lot of lies recently haven't I...?

Alright! Time to ask Toodles and Rodger first!

I knock on the door and see a sleepy Rodger wearing a T-shirt with a wolf howling on it. Woah that T-shirt looks pretty cool! I see Toodles hugging a toy dog plush.

"Oh, sorry Rodger I barely realized it's almost midnight! I'm sorry... But I just wanted to ask if we all could have a sleepover tomorrow? It'll be fun!", I say. 

"It's fine Goob. I was awake in the first place. Cosmo and Sprout aren't there, right?", he asks me yawning.

"Nope! They aren't! Why? Are you guys fighting...?", I ask Rodger worried.

"Oh no not at all. They just... stay up too late doing who know what.", Rodger replies.

Phew! Not a fight! I wonder what they do at night that even annoyed Rodger?

And then Toodle says something about Rodger and Teagan doing the same and Rodger shuts her up.

"So... Are you guys coming?", I ask them hopefully.

"Yes, we will. I still need to make Toodles here go to sleep so don't mind me.", Rodger replies as he shuts the door behind him.

YAY! THEY SAID OK!!!

Now I'm going to go ask Finn. Hopefully he doesn't bombard me with his fish jokes! Hehe! I like his jokes though. 

Maybe it's better if I ask Finn and Shrimpo tomorrow instead. It's getting late!
