His red hair did shine through the night as he walked through the palace's towers.

Everything else was colored in darker shades, yet that red colour stood out.

"There you are!"

A sudden voice said while approaching the knight.

"How have you been?"

Asher asked while patting Aylin's hair gently.

She smiled, replying,

"Am good, I thought it was Ezra's watch tonight, so I came to tease him"

Aylin shared her honest thoughts.

"He is a little sick"

Ashee replied.

While speaking, they roamed around those unguarded corners.

Which did seem to be unusual.

'It's like the number of guards keeps decreasing by each passing day'

The Petrian thought to herself.

Yet she did not want to bring it up to Asher's attention, it would only worry him more.

All she could do was hope for her friend to stay alive and safe the longest.

"Aylin"

Asher said.

"When all of this is over, let's go back to our home"

He suddenly added.

His words sounded unreal to her. She for sure made new friends and improved her Lydian.

Yet nothing would ever make her feel at ease like the way she felt while being home.

She jumped, hugging the man in front of her, replying,

"YES"

And only for a minute there, she felt like her 'temporary' might actually last forever.

His slow footsteps through the hallway were not heard at all. He put his hand on his burning forehead and thought that he could use some sleep.

Ezra could not remember the last time he got a fever since he grew up in a snowy weather, his tolerance for cold was really impressive.

He finally stood in front of his door, opened it and stepped inside.

Ezra closed the door behind him, then looked towards the little figure standing before him. Ezra looked around to make sure that he was in room.

"Hi?"

He questioned her presence in his own room.

Clair stood there in shock, her face showed just how startled she was, but since Ezra remained calm, the awkward situation did not get worse.

Ezra's eyes did not look anywhere else while she could not keep the eye contact.

He then remembered her back from the day he went looking for Aylin.

"Are you Aylin's friend?"

Ezra asked before he moved his desk's chair and sat on it facing Clair, waiting for a response.

"Yes"

 She finally spoke.

'So she wrote the letters, kids nowadays are too brave'

He thought to himself.

Even though Ezra had a couple of thing that he wanted to clarify with her, his head was hurting so badly, he could barely focus.
