Chapter 8
You Best Be Ready
It's been about a week or two since Austin and I had the wonderful idea that we wanted to have baby MAHONES! I was supposed to start my period four days ago, and I am starting to get nervous. I, unlike most people decided to tell Austin to buy me a pregnancy test Because my lovely gift from satan was late.
"Babe.. Can we go to the dollar store to get a pregnancy test please?" I asked Austin in the most casual tone
"Yeah.. Any visual evidence, yet?" He asked sarcastically
"Well my monthly death cycle is as late as a Shiitake mushroom growing in the garden of Eden." I stated back
"Okay.. I'll get you one" he said back
Austin walked his six foot tall self to the front of the tour bus, and he politely asked the driver to stop at the nearest WalMart. About 15 minutes later, the bus pulled into the WalMart parking lot. Austin walked out of the tour bus, and he walked right on into The store. He actually did not get attacked by mahomies this time. About 10 minutes later he walked out with a small bag in his hand, and he walked in and handed it to me. I walked into the bathroom and read the box. I followed all of the procedures on the box, and I finally completed to test after many, many tries.
I purposely held the thing upside down, so I could not see the results. I was absolutely TERRIFIED to look. I called for Austin to come look, so I did not have to.
"Austin... Can you come here for a sec?" I asked sweetly this one time
"Yes babe. I'll be right there."
Austin finally came to the bathroom, and he saw that I was holding the tester upside down.
"Why are you holding it upside down?" He asked looking quite confused
"I'm scared to look. I want you to look." I said back handing it over to him
He took the test in his hands, and he flipped it over so slow, I swear the whole earth could do a full rotation. He finally got his eyes fixed on the result, and I saw them widen. I could feel my body tensing up, and I could feel tears beginning to form.
"Please don't leave me.. Please please don't leave me." I said, tears running down my face.
"Sweetheart.. I wouldn't leave you. I'm so so ready to start a family with you."
"I'm glad. I can't wait, but these next 9 months are going to be living torture." I said with a chuckle.
"Yeah babe. But I'll be right here beside you the whole way through." He said
We started walking down the hallway back to our bedroom when Austin had another lightbulb.
"We should tell the boys" he said with all enthusiasm
"Okay.. I'll let you do that." I said laughing
He then, turned around and started walking towards the front of the bus where all the guys were. He kissed me right before he told them. I guess for Goodluck.
"Here goes nothing.." He says taking a deep breath
"Guys.. I have some news to tell you" Austin says very calmly
"And what would that news be" AC perks up
"Well. We're expecting" Austin says smiling
"*gasp* YOU DID THE..." Robert starts to say before Austin cuts him off
"Don't even, Rob." Austin says snapping at Rob, but playfully.
Zach butts in, "all I gotta say, man, you best be ready."
