Scarlet POV

The past few days had been a blur. Sunod-sunod ang mga photoshoots ko, leaving me drained and barely functioning. Kahit gustong-gusto kong mag-focus sa trabaho, hindi ko maiwasang ma-distract. Si Kit pa rin ang laman ng isip ko

George, on the other hand, was always there. Sa bawat shoot, he would sit in the corner, quietly observing, and after every session, he'd offer to take me home or bring me coffee. It was sweet, pero kahit na anong effort niya, hindi niya kayang alisin ang iniisip ko

One day, after an especially grueling shoot, George approached me habang inaayos ko ang gamit ko

"Scarlet," he said softly, his voice filled with concern. "You haven't eaten properly all day."

"I'm fine," I replied curtly, brushing him off.

"You're not fine," he countered, crossing his arms. "You're exhausted. How about I take you to dinner? Something light, just to help you recharge."

I hesitated, but I knew he wouldn't take no for an answer. "Fine," I said finally.

"But just a quick dinner, okay?" dagdag ko and he just laughed

George chose a cozy, intimate restaurant with dim lighting and a quiet ambiance. As we settled into our seats, I tried my best to focus on the moment.

"You need to take better care of yourself," George said gently after we placed our orders. "You can't keep running on empty like this."

"You should eat something hearty," he said as we sat down. "You need energy" Picking up the menu. He ordered for both of us, and I let him, too tired to argue.

Habang naghihintay kami ng pagkain, I tried to focus on the conversation. George was telling me about a recent project he worked on, pero ang utak ko ay nasa ibang lugar.

"You need energy" he said randomly

I nodded absentmindedly, his words barely registering. My mind was elsewhere, my thoughts consumed by Kit.

But then, as if summoned by my thoughts, the door to the restaurant opened, and in walked Kit.

My heart stopped.

He looked as dashing as ever, but he wasn't alone. She was with him again. The woman who had haunted me since that viral article.

"Scarlet?" George's voice pulled me back to reality, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from Kit.

"Hmm?" I murmured, pretending to listen.

"You look pale. Are you okay?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

"I'm fine," I lied, though my hands were trembling under the table.

Kit and the woman were led to a table on the far side of the room, but it was close enough for me to see them clearly

"You're distracted," he said, his brows furrowed.

"I'm fine," I lied, forcing a smile.

But I wasn't fine. Every time I glanced at Kit's table, it felt like a dagger was being driven deeper into my chest. Wala akong ganang kumain. My appetite had completely disappeared, replaced by a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Are you sure you're okay?" George asked again, concern evident in his voice.

"I... I just need to use the bathroom," I said quickly, standing up before he could say anything more

I rushed to the restroom, my mind racing. I didn't know what I was going to do, but I couldn't sit there any longer, pretending everything was fine.

I splashed cold water on my face, trying to calm myself down. "Breathe, Scarlet," I whispered, gripping the edge of the sink
