Scarlet POV
The idea of kidnapping kept me awake for nights.
Kit was mine—he just didn't realize it yet. Kung hindi niya kayang makita 'yun sa normal na paraan, then I'll make sure he does.
Sa mga sumunod na araw, I've research a lot about Kit's activities for the week. I learned his routines, his schedule, and even his usual haunts. It wasn't difficult; Kit's lifestyle was predictable. He'd go to the gym in the mornings, head to his office, then meet with Nadia for lunch or dinner.
Julie visited the house one afternoon. Her smile was bright, but I could see the curiosity in her eyes. She had been pestering me about Kit ever since she noticed my growing obsession.
"Scarlet," Julie started as she sipped her coffee, "kamusta ka na? May napag-isipan ka na ba tungkol kay Kit? I mean, you've been so... quiet lately."
I smiled, masking the turmoil inside me. "Actually, Julie, I've come to realize na siguro tama ka. Maybe it's time to move on. Hindi worth it na masaktan ako sa isang tao na hindi naman ako nakikita the way I see him."
Her eyes widened in surprise. "Oh my gosh, Scarlet! I'm so proud of you! Finally, you're thinking straight. I was so worried na baka lalo ka pang masaktan."
I forced a smile and nodded. "Oo, Julie. You were right. Hindi worth it si Kit sa sakit ng ulo ko. Maybe it's time to move forward."
Julie beamed. "I'm so happy to hear that! Alam mo, ang daming magagandang bagay na naghihintay sa'yo. You just need to let go."
"Oo nga," I replied, sipping my tea to mask the lies I was spinning. Julie couldn't know. Hindi siya dapat makahalata sa balak ko. For now, I needed her to believe that I was finally letting Kit go because I know for sure that she will stop me from my plan
"Don't worry about me," I said, patting her hand for effect. "I just need some time away, kaya naisip ko magbakasyon."
"Talaga? Saan?" Julie asked, clearly intrigued.
"Somewhere quiet and far. Gusto ko lang ng fresh air. Maybe one or two months lang naman," I explained, keeping my tone casual.
Julie grinned. "That's amazing! I'm happy you're taking this step."
Two days later, habang nag-aalmusal kami ni Ate Mia, she brought up my plans.
"Lei, sigurado ka ba na aalis ka for two months?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.
"Yes, ate I feel drained and I think I need some rest off. Para rin sa sarili ko ito," I answered calmly, feigning a weary smile
"Tsaka, hindi naman ako magpapabaya. Babalik din ako agad."
"Kung gusto mo, sumama na lang si George sa'yo. At least may kasama ka."
My heart skipped a beat. "Huwag na, Ate. May bago siyang project, 'di ba? Baka maistorbo pa siya. Kaya ko naman mag-isa. Kaya, please, don't worry."
She sighed. "Fine, pero promise me na magpaparamdam ka araw-araw."
"Promise"
George also knew about my so called vacation and he suddenly became unusually clingy. Dinadalaw niya ako araw-araw, taking me out to dinner and even to random trips around the city.
"Bakit parang gusto mo akong dalhin kung saan-saan?" I asked him one evening habang nasa kotse kami
"Kasi mawawala ka ng dalawang buwan," he replied, half-joking. "Baka kung saan ka mapadpad, hindi ka na bumalik."
