Chan places his face towel down before looking at himself in the mirror. After coming home from a long day of classes he'd jumped straight into getting ready for his date: he'd showered, shaved, brushed his teeth, put on cologne and spent an unnecessary amount of time wondering what he should wear.
Now dressed in comfortable blue jeans, a simple plain white shirt and a warm jacket over the top, he was finally content that he looked pretty good, and smelt good too.
It had been a while since he'd been on a date, but he was sure this was the longest he had ever taken to get ready. Usually what he could do in half an hour had now taken 2 hours. It came as no surprise though considering Chan wanted to be perfect for Seungmin. He wanted to impress the boy; to see him smile knowing he was the reason. Deep down he felt like he had to go the extra mile to make up for his lack of skills in... other areas.
The kiss they had shared after confessing set Chan's heart racing. He could still recall the warm touch of the younger's lips even days later, but it had him wondering just how many boys Seungmin had kissed? How many lips had it taken for Seungmin to learn how to maintain composure and avoid smiling like an idiot? How many boys had he kissed to learn how to make Chan feel that good, during and days later in his memory? Chan kind of felt ashamed that his own kissing skills paled in comparison.
Chan knew he shouldn't be concerned over such trivial things, but he felt he had something to prove when it came to kissing Seungmin. His brother had kissed those very lips too, and recently as of that. Although he tried to forget it, the thought of the two together spread an ugly feeling through his entire being. Maybe Seungmin had always been this good...or maybe he was good because he'd spent months practising and refining his skills on his brother?
That very thought made Chan shiver with discontent.
Chan could pretend to be confident, he knew he could play the part, but deep down he questioned whether he was worthy when it already felt like Seungmin was miles ahead. Chan had never dated someone younger than him, and believe it or not he usually ended up being the one to follow rather than lead. But despite Seungmin being younger, his experience made him feel older and Chan couldn't help but want to flip things back around. He wanted to be in charge, he wanted to be the one taking the lead, even though he had little knowledge on how.
After he'd parted from Seungmin, he was left wondering if Seungmin enjoyed the way he had kissed him, whether it was too soft and too light? Had Seungmin liked the way he had teased and spoken to him? Did he like the way he had held his waist? Did he seem confident to the younger or was it clear he was secretly a mess?
Chan wasn't sure, but what he was sure of was that Seungmin wanted to be with him regardless.
In order to take the lead Chan settled that he had to be the one to initiate things, hence why the very first thing he did the following morning was to daringly send a shirtless photo of himself to Seungmin.
He'd had been so nervous that maybe it was too much too quick, but then the boy had sent a photo back; showing himself snuggled in bed, wrapped up in the hoodie he had given him of all things. Seungmin's positive response gave Chan the confidence that he was taking a step in the right direction, so he'd decided then and there to send more photos of himself and what he was doing, in hopes that Seungmin would do the same in return.
Much to Chan's pleasure, Seungmin did not disappoint. From one response to the next, Chan simply couldn't wipe the smile off his face. He had photos of Seungmin eating cereal, Seungmin pulling pouty faces over homework, Seungmin watching tv, Seungmin pulling faces in the mirror, Seungmin brushing his teeth, Seungmin's feet in his cute puppy socks, sleepy Seungmin with his puppy body pillow, the list went on.
