Ruhi Birla sat between her cousins Shivansh and Abhir, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her kurta. The serene beauty of the lake outside the window did little to calm her nerves. Tonight was the night she'd finally tell her family about Rohit. She glanced at her cousins, who were chatting animatedly, oblivious to the storm brewing within her.

She leaned in closer to her cousins and whispered, "I need to tell everyone something."

Shivansh, ever the protective older cousin, raised an eyebrow. "What's going on, Ruhi? You look all mysterious."

Ruhi just smiled. "I'm going to introduce someone to the family."

Abhir, the mischievous brother, immediately perked up. "Is it a new friend? A boy?" he asked, teasing her.

Ruhi rolled her eyes and nudged him lightly. "Yes, it's a boy... but that's all I'm saying for now."

The two boys exchanged glances. Both are protective for Ruhi. She is their little sister in many ways, and no boy would ever be good enough for her—at least, that's what they both secretly thought. However, Ruhi seemed confident about her decision, and they decided not to pry further.

Later that evening, as everyone gathered for dinner, Ruhi felt her nerves kick in. Her whole family is present. The dinner table was set with the finest silverware and crystal glasses, the aroma of delicious Rajasthani cuisine filling the room. This was the perfect moment to announce about Rohit to the family.

"Everyone," she announced, standing up from her chair, her voice a little shaky. "I have something I'd like to share."

The room grew silent as all eyes turned to her. The clatter of cutlery against plates stopped  and a quiet anticipation filled the space.

"Ruhi,"Shefali said warmly, "what is it, beta?"

Ruhi took a deep breath and looked around the table at the faces she had grown up with, the people she loved the most. "Well," she began, "you all know how much I value your opinions and support in my life."

Harsh, her grandfather, nodded sagely. Manjari, her grandmother, smiled gently, while her parents, Neil and Aarohi, exchanged a curious glance. Ruhi knew she was about to shake things up.

"So, I wanted to tell you that I've been seeing someone," Ruhi continued, her heart pounding in her chest. She took a moment to gather her thoughts before saying his name. "His name is Rohit Poddar, and I'd like to introduce him to all of you."

The silence that followed Ruhi's announcement was deafening. All eyes remained fixed on her, and the room seemed frozen in time for a moment. It was as though the Birla family was collectively processing the information before any reactions could surface.

Harshvardhan Birla, the patriarch, was the first to speak. His voice was stern, but there was an inquisitive glint in his eyes. "Rohit Poddar? Who is this boy, Ruhi? What does he do?"

Before Ruhi could answer, Neil, her father, jumped in, his voice laced with disbelief. "Wait a minute. Since when are you 'seeing someone'? Why didn't we know about this?" Neil had always been fiercely protective of Ruhi, and the idea of her having a boyfriend caught him completely off guard.

Ruhi sighed, bracing herself. "Papa, I didn't tell anyone because I wanted to be sure before introducing him. Rohit is kind, hardworking, and... he makes me happy."

Aarohi, her mother, placed a calming hand on Neil's arm. "Neil, let her speak. We should hear her out before reacting."

Manjari Birla, always supportive, added with a reassuring smile, "Ruhi, if he makes you happy, that's what matters. But you know the men in this family are a little... overprotective." She cast a pointed look at her family.
