"Please touch me everywhere. I don't want that man's scent all over me," Ayami pleaded through her tears.
Shin's worry deepened. "What happened?" he asked softly.
Ayami didn't answer, only clinging to him more tightly. They stood there, enveloped in each other's presence, the rain beginning to fall around them. Shin's phone rang, breaking the moment.
"Where are you? Get over here, we're gonna start," Nobuo's voice crackled through the phone.
"Sorry for taking your time," Ayami said, breaking away from the hug.
"See you," she added, kissing him on the cheek and starting to leave.
"Wait!" Shin called after her.
Ayami turned to look at him, questioning.
"Stay," Shin said firmly.
"Why?" Ayami asked, hesitating.
"Why not?" Shin countered.
"Does your band know about us?" Ayami asked, uncertainty in her voice.
"Why should they care?" Shin replied.
"I don't know," Ayami said softly.
With determination, Shin took Ayami's hand and led her to the backstage area. As they arrived, the band members turned to face them, curiosity etched on their faces.
"Where have you been?" Nobu asked, his tone a mix of irritation and concern.
"I was with somebody," Shin replied, stepping aside to reveal Ayami standing beside him. The sight of her left everyone momentarily stunned.
"Well, isn't this the ballerina's rebel?" Nana said with a grin, walking over to hug Ayami. "You're wet! Did it rain?"
Ayami nodded, feeling a mix of embarrassment and relief.
"Why don't you sit down and have a cup of tea," Nana offered warmly.
Yasu handed Ayami a cup of tea and a towel. "Mind telling me who this girl is?" Nobu asked, still puzzled.
"The girl I kissed yesterday," Nana stated matter-of-factly, causing Ayami to blush.
"Ohhh, that girl. Hello there, I'm Nobuo," Nobuo said with a welcoming smile.
"And I'm Yasu," Yasu added, bowing slightly.
"Ayami," she introduced herself, bowing in return.
"Where's Tetsuya? Did he come here?" Nana asked, looking around.
"Oh, no. I came with my friend who is also a fan, but she couldn't come for some reason," Ayami lied, her reflex to avoid the truth kicking in even though it wasn't necessary.
"So that's why you met Shin," Nana said, and Ayami nodded. She glanced over at Shin, who was smoking and staring into the distance.
"Then who was calling you, Shin?" Nobuo asked curiously.
"Her," Shin replied, nodding towards Ayami, leaving her flabbergasted.
"Wait, you knew each other?" Nobuo exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah, we met yesterday. She liked me and asked for my number," Shin said casually, causing Ayami to be even more shocked.
"So, are you guys dating?" Yasu inquired with a raised eyebrow.
"Nope, she didn't ask me out," Shin replied with a shrug, leaving the room in a brief, awkward silence.
Ayami blushed, her cheeks warm with the sudden attention.
"Ohhh, Shin has a new play date," Nana teased. "Don't worry, Aya-chan. We don't mind."
"As long as no one saw you and be careful. Those crazy fans will attack," Yasu warned.
Ayami just nodded, still trying to process everything.
"Well, let's start practicing," Yasu announced.
The band members stood up and left the waiting room. Shin lingered for a moment, coming closer to Ayami with his hands in his pockets. "I told you, no one cares," he said before kissing her on the lips and walking away, leaving Ayami blushing once again.
Ayami sat there, finishing her tea. She couldn't help but smile the whole time, her heart fluttering with unexpected happiness. Just as she was lost in her thoughts, the door opened and a girl walked in.
"Who are you?" the girl asked, her tone curious but not unfriendly.
"I'm Ayami. I'm with Shin," Ayami replied confidently this time.
"Shinichi?" the girl asked, her eyebrows raising in surprise.
Ayami nodded.
"Well, hello. I am Kosaka Yuri," Yuri introduced herself with a smile. "How long have you known Shin?"
"Since yesterday," Ayami admitted.
"Oh, playmate," Yuri remarked, a hint of amusement in her voice.
"Excuse me?" Ayami said, her brow furrowing.
Yuri shook her head, laughing lightly. "Do you want to watch them practice?"
Ayami nodded and followed Yuri. They climbed to the top of the venue, where they had a perfect view of the stage and the fans below. This area was restricted, accessible only to staff or those personally invited by the band.
The band started playing a new song, different from the one they performed yesterday. Ayami and Yuri watched, thoroughly enjoying the performance.
After the set, Yuri and Ayami returned backstage to congratulate the band. "So, you guys met," Nobuo said, smiling.
Ayami nodded, feeling more at ease with the group.
To celebrate the end of their Tokyo tour and the start of their Asian tour, the band decided to hit a club. They found themselves sitting on a plush couch, Shin's arm draped around Ayami as they watched people around them getting drunk and enjoying the night.
"So, when will you start your Asian tour?" Ayami asked, curiosity in her voice.
"Two weeks from now," Shin replied.
"That fast?" Ayami said, surprised.
Shin nodded. They sat in uncomfortable silence for a moment, the buzz of the club surrounding them. Then, without warning, Shin gently pulled Ayami onto his lap, holding her close. He buried his face in her neck, seeking solace in her warmth.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Shin asked softly.
"I don't know how to say this, but will we separate after this?" Ayami's voice trembled slightly.
Shin pulled back to look at her, confusion in his eyes. "What? Who said that?"
"Aren't we just fuck buddies?" Ayami asked hesitantly.
"You confessed to me, and you think about that?" Shin's tone was a mix of disbelief and hurt.
"Then we're dating? Isn't it too fast?" Ayami questioned, her uncertainty palpable.
"Why do you worry about so many things? Can you calm down and enjoy our time together? Let us be happy and mess around," Shin said, his voice gentle yet firm.
Ayami just nodded, feeling the weight of her worries lift slightly. She nestled into Shin's embrace, allowing herself to be present in the moment, finding comfort in his words and warmth. The night continued around them, but for now, all that mattered was the connection they shared.
