"Wow, you smell strong." Is the first thing Harry says when I come downstairs, all dressed and ready.
"I was spraying on my perfume and then I thought I saw something." I tell him, slightly blushing, because I feel like really dumb about what just happened.
"You saw something?" He asks, frowning, not really getting what I'm talking about.
"Flashes of things. Maybe memories."
"Really?" He asks excitedly.
"Yeah, but I couldn't tell what it was, it was gone before I knew it. I tried spraying the perfume again, and again, but nothing happened."
"Hence the strong perfume smell." Harry nods. "It's great, though. Maybe that means that the memories are still somewhere in there."
"Yeah, I guess it is great. It does give me a little hope."
He picks up his mug and stirs it before taking a sip.
"You going out now?"
"Yeah, Leah is coming to pick me up."
"Excited?"
"I guess so. I hope she hasn't changed much."
"I don't think she did. You'll get along perfectly well."
I smile at him, and then the doorbell rings. "Speaking of the devil." I say. I go to open the door, and Leah is standing there, a wide grin on her face. She looks exactly the same. A sense of relief is washing over me now that there's finally someone I know standing right in front of me. I almost start crying.
"An! I've missed you so much!" She crushes me in a hug and I hug her back.
"It's so good to see you. I can't wait to catch up."
"I know, right? Let's go." She says, gesturing for me to come outside.
"Wait, I just have to say bye to Harry."
"Sure, I'll wait here."
It already feels weird leaving without kissing Harry. Before, it was just him giving me a kiss on the top of my head. Now, it's on the lips.
"Bye, babe. Have fun!" He says after we give each other a short kiss.
"Thanks!"
Now I'm ready to go. I go outside, where Leah is sitting in her car, the door on the passenger side opened. I take a seat and we drive off.
"So how are you and Harry?" She asks.
"Well... We actually kissed yesterday." I can't help but grin when I say that.
"What?" She looks at me through the rearview mirror, her eyes full of surprise. "That's great, I guess."
"I had a crush on him before, and after spending so much time together, I realized that I was already beginning to really like him."
"Yeah, well, he's such a handsome and charming guy, it's not strange that you keep falling for him."
I laugh. "He is, though, isn't he?" Leah laughs too.
"And I guess you must have met Zayn, then?" I ask her. Zayn was the one she used to have a crush on. She wasn't as bad as I was, though. Her fangirling remained very low-key.
"Yeah, I met him a couple times. He's genuinely a good guy." She smiles.
"He is. I met him yesterday. By the way, your accent has changed, did you know that?" I tell her.
