Earth Year 3010, November 13th
Thirty-Three months since the Attack
"Hurry to the hangar bay and get ready for takeoff!" McMillan called out.
"Where are you going?" Sia asked.
"I'm going to open the doors so you can get out of here." He responded.
After losing him the first time and thinking she would never see him again, Sia couldn't imagine escaping without him. "No! Chris! I can't..." Sia grabbed his arm and held on for a second.
He pulled her close and kissed her on the forehead. "You have to get out." He said simply before running for the hangar controls. She wished she had brought him in closer and kissed him fully. He was gone, and she was going to have to leave him this time.
Mitsu pulled on her arm. "We need to hurry Sia!" He called out.
She almost resisted his pull and followed Christopher. The Taggon put his heavy hand on her shoulder and spoke. "He is giving us a chance that we need. Let's not squander it."
She had to lead them, she didn't have a choice. They didn't know the ship enough to get to the hangar, they didn't know where the Guardians would be. She started to lead, her legs feeling heavy but she pressed on. Leading the Taggon and Mitsu to the hangar and, hopefully, freedom.
They reached the hangar bay without incident and Sia pulled her laser pistol. She motioned for the two to stay back while she approached the soldier who was moving the Guardians. "I need these loaded onto the cargo ship." She said, leaving little space for him to argue with her. He didn't resist her and loaded the Guardians onto the cargo ship. After he finished, Sia knocked him unconscious and pulled him aside.
Mitsu and the Taggon had already boarded the cargo ship when the Guardians were loaded. Sia stood at the bottom of the ramp and looked back over her shoulder. The soldiers had finally begun to catch on to what was happening. They were starting to come into the hangar with weapons. Sia climbed up the ramp and closed it, before rushing to the cockpit. She climbed into the pilot seat as Mitsu was waving his hands. She looked out and could see Christ standing in the hangar bay control room.
He threw a lever to open the hangar bay doors and she launched the ship. As she launched the cargo ship, it blared alarms as it was moving much faster than normal. They entered into empty space and she started to plot out a Pass. The hangar doors closed behind them and she activated the Pass.
Sia sat there as the Pass ended, holding the hurricane of emotions that threatened to break through her. She had left him behind. After all that time, she had just gone and left him behind. She leaned forwards and put her head in her hands. Suddenly there was a light touch on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Mitsu standing over her. He had tears in his eyes but he wasn't crying. "He will be alright." He said simply.
She took a shuddering breath as the words touched her soul. She wanted to begin crying but they still needed to decide where they were going. They had the option of Edravis, Sedronia or Ulara. Sedronia would be the most dangerous, Faucheur would send out an alert about us and they would definitely put as many patrols between here and Sedronia as possible. Edravis was slightly less dangerous, the Whists might be more involved with the human military but the home planet wasn't as integrated.
"We should trade this ship for a different ship in Edravis." The Taggon said, breaking through her thoughts. "It is a military vehicle so I assume it has many ways to track it. Edravis would be the easiest place to trade a ship."
Sia nodded her head, not trusting herself to speak yet. She turned around and started plotting a Pass to Edravis.
