N A K S H A T R A

I was busy in my office, checking some patients, just then my phone rang and it flashed Mihir bhai's Name. "Hello bhai!" "Come here fast!" "Where?" "Are hospital!" "Kyu?? Bas aa jaa! Pata h na kon se Hospital?" "Haa haa!" "To fir jaldi aa please!" I informed the receptionist about my sudden leave and asked Paridhi to handle everything and began taking a cab just then a horn terrified me, and it was Adhwit's car. Comming fully in sweats as if he was so worried, but looking soo fine at the same time. "Sit!" "But how-" "Sit, I'm coming with you!" he said and I slide into the passenger seat.

Just then our kiss came in my mind. I can still feel the ghost of that kiss. It's like it's burned into my skin, etched deep in my memory, and every time I think about it, my heart races. I can't help but blush whenever I replay it in my mind-the way his lips moved against mine, the desperate need that flooded us both, the feeling of being completely consumed by him.

I didn't expect it to leave me this shaken, but it does. Every time I close my eyes, I can still taste him, still feel the pressure of his hands on me, steadying me. The way he kissed me, like I was the only thing that mattered, makes my cheeks heat up all over again.

It's like my body remembers it, like it knows it wasn't just a kiss, but something that meant more, something that carved a place for him in my world. I can't stop thinking about how vulnerable I was, how I gave into him without hesitation, and how he didn't pull away. He held me there, in that perfect, breathless moment, and somehow, I feel like he's still holding me now.

And then I blush again, because the thought of it is enough to make my heart flip.
"We're here Cariño!" he said and I came out of my wonderland.

I asked for Bhai's room and rushed towards the room and there I saw Bhai, pacing left and right in tention, and the same was with Maa and Papa, and nupur was taking care of everyone  "Maa.." "Naksh... Nakshatra. Beta dar lag rah h!" "Hua kya maa?" "Div.. Divya..." "Kya hua bhabhi ko?" just then I heard the cries of a newborn baby.

The cries of the newborn filled the tense atmosphere like a balm to everyone's nerves. My heart raced as I glanced at Maa, whose tears spilled over, a mixture of relief and joy shining on her face. Bhai stopped pacing and turned toward the door that led to the delivery room.

"Bhabhi delivered?" I asked, trying to confirm the miraculous sound that seemed to echo in my chest.

Bhai nodded, his expression torn between elation and worry. "Yes, but... complications ho rahi thi. Doctor ne bola tha ki... ki critical hai." His voice cracked, and I stepped closer to place a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"Abhi sab theek hoga, Bhai," I said firmly, though my own nerves were stretched taut. I caught a glimpse of Adhwit standing a few steps behind me, his gaze steady and reassuring as if silently telling me to stay strong.

Just then, the door opened, and a nurse stepped out, cradling the tiny bundle of life in her arms. "Congratulations, Mr. Mihir! It's a baby girl," she said with a warm smile.

The tension broke like a dam, and Bhai nearly collapsed into the chair, his hands covering his face. Maa sobbed harder, clutching Papa’s arm as they both stared at the baby in awe. Even amidst the relief, my gaze kept flickering toward the door, waiting for an update on Bhabhi.

"Bhabhi kaisi hai?" I finally asked the nurse, my voice trembling slightly.

The nurse’s expression softened. "She’s stable now. It was a difficult delivery, but she's a fighter. She’s asking for her husband."

Bhai shot up immediately, his face a mix of tears and hope. "Main... main jaaun?" he stammered.

"Yes, of course," the nurse said. Bhai rushed inside, leaving the rest of us to marvel at the little miracle before us.

Maa extended her hands toward the baby, who was now being carefully handed to her. "Nakshatra... dekho, kitni pyari hai," she whispered, tears streaming as she cradled her granddaughter.

I stepped closer, my heart melting at the sight. The baby was tiny, her face scrunched up, but she was undeniably beautiful. Something about her soft cries and little fists made the world feel lighter.

"She’s adorable," I murmured, glancing back at Adhwit, who was leaning against the wall, a soft smile tugging at his lips. For a moment, our eyes met, and the memory of the kiss surged back, unbidden. Heat rushed to my cheeks, but this time, it wasn’t just from the memory—it was from the way he was looking at me now, as if I was the only one in the room.

Before I could overthink it, Papa’s voice interrupted my thoughts. "Beti hui hai, Nakshatra. Ek nayi zindagi, ek nayi shuruaat," he said, his tone filled with gratitude.

I nodded, feeling a strange wave of hope. A new beginning—it wasn’t just for Bhai and Bhabhi; maybe it was for me too.

As the family celebrated, Adhwit stepped closer, his voice low so only I could hear. "You’re amazing, you know that? The way you hold everyone together... it’s inspiring."

I looked up at him, my heart fluttering. "Adhwit, tum... tum yeh sab kyun bol rahe ho ekdam se?"

"Because it’s true," he replied, his eyes earnest. Before I could respond, he added, "But let’s focus on the celebration. Your niece deserves all the attention right now."

I smiled, a little overwhelmed by the mix of emotions. For now, I decided to push everything else aside. This moment was for my family, for Bhai and Bhabhi, and for the tiny miracle that had just entered our lives.

But deep down, I knew Adhwit had already carved a place in my heart, just like the memory of that kiss.
