Eleven Weeks, One Day Later

Friday Morning

"Here baby," Ayla said next to me in the passenger seat. I look over briefly to see Ayla holding a piece of a bagel towards me.

"Feed me," I teased. Ayla giggles before she moves closer and places the piece of bagel to my lips. I accept it and begin to chew the contents. I smile a bit and wink at Ayla.

"With cream cheese and strawberry jelly just how I like it," I said once I swallowed the contents.

"Of course baby I know what you like," Ayla said.

"You do. Thank you baby."

"You're welcome...so....today's the day! Your only sister is getting married!," Ayla said. She squeals as she claps her hands a few times and I chuckle softly.

"Damn man....shit is crazy. I won't even lie. I am very happy for her. I know how happy her and Jorden are and that's what matters....it's a little bittersweet. Really wish my dad could be here today you know? Like...Skylar is so strong to walk down the aisle by herself. I offered but...you know," I said while shrugging my shoulders.

"I know baby....I hate that Anthony isn't here to witness Skylar's special day. He would have been so proud and emotional," Ayla said softly.

"So emotional. Like he told Skylar all the time he would cry her entire wedding day and I believe that," I said while laughing softly.

"I know....he's looking down today though for sure," Ayla encouraged me.

"He absolutely is," I said. I hold out my hand and Ayla grabs it and kisses it repeatedly.

"How you feeling about today?," Kai asked.

"I'm so excited! I know it's going to be stressful though. Like she really got us going to this church at 8 am like oh my god it's so early. It's going to be a long day, but I know it's going to be so beautiful and so much fun."

"I agree with you baby. I won't even lie I'm probably going to cry today for sure don't tease me about it later either."

"I would never you know that," Ayla said while laughing a bit.

"Mmhm...it's just like damn my younger sister is getting married. The sister I grew up with. The person besides you, that I am the closest with. She's my heart for real I tell her that all the time. But....I am very happy she is going to marry the love of her life. I know Jorden is great to her. He treats her like a queen, the way she deserves to be treated. So I know she is in great hands. I know he will always look out for her and protect her and that makes me genuinely happy."

"Aww baby you're so sweet. She is so lucky to have you as her brother."

"You're too sweet thank you Ayla." Ayla leans over and lifts up a bit to kiss my cheek and I can't help but to smile to myself. Ayla feeds me the rest of the bagel, while eating one she prepared for herself as well.

Within 35 minutes, we are pulling up to the church. I park and kills the engine. We both get out of the car and I open up the trunk. Ayla goes to grab her items, but I stop her.

"You know I got you. Let me get a hug and a kiss I won't be seeing you until we walk down the aisle together," I said sweetly. Ayla smiles and moves closer to me and I wrap my arms around Ayla's waist as she wraps her arms around my neck. She looks up at me with her loving brown eyes and I can't help but to smile. I rub her waist gently as we stare at each other. I swear this is just all the time, just admiring each other.
