Ayla Jackson has known Kai Harrison for years. Due to his reputation, she never thought much of him. But after an encounter that changed everything, they would embark on a journey that neither would anticipate, but one that was foredestined.
"Skylar. Oh my god," I said as I place a hand over my chest. Skylar bites her lip as she moves closer to the podium in the wedding dress shop we are in. I stand up and help her to stand on the podium. I stand behind her and admire her. She looks absolutely stunning!
"Ayla...look at this," Skylar said softly.
"Skylar....you look absolutely stunning oh my god," I said.
"Wow....this is it. It fits me perfectly." My eyes travel across the dress that Skylar is wearing.

It accentuates every part of her body perfectly. The lace details are so stunning. I love the mermaid style.
"Skylar this is so beautiful," I said softly.
"It really is....Ayla thank you so much for being here for me today," Skylar said.
"You know I wouldn't miss this for the world gorgeous," I said. Skylar smiles faintly and I already know where her mind is going.
"I know you wish your mom was here," I stated. Skylar turns her head towards me and I watch her eyes soften.
"...Yeah....I do. Or even my dad. It's crazy neither of them are going to see me get married Ayla. It's all I have been thinking about lately and I hate it," Skylar said sadly.
"I know Skylar. It sucks there's no other way to say it. It's a girl's dream to go dress shopping with her mom, and have her dad walk her down the aisle. I am sorry you won't have either. But you have me, you have Kai, and you have Jorden. The man of your dreams will be waiting at the end of the aisle for you to dedicate his life to you. And that means everything to you I know it does," I said in an encouraging tone.
"Yes....it does. I love Jorden so much. That's my baby, my heart, my soul, my everything. I would not be here without him I swear. When...my dad died, he literally pieced me back together. He was so patient, and kind and loving and understanding. He's my friend, my protector, my lover, he's really everything to me," Skylar said as tears filled her eyes.
"Awww baby don't cry," I said while pouting playfully. Skylar laughs a bit as she wipes her tears that fell.
"I'm ok Ayla...thank you so much for always knowing what to say to make me feel better. You're such an amazing friend and I love you so much," Skylar said.
"I love you too Skylar," I said while smiling. I turn her so she can look back at herself in her dress and she can't help but to smile.
"This dress is perfect for you," I complimented.
"It is...I love it so much," Skylar said while running a hand delicately down the dress. Skylar selected this dress a couple of months ago and she got it fitted perfectly. This is her final fitting. Her wedding is really coming up in just a couple of months! It's already early February and her wedding is in April!! Her and Jorden really have all of the major details figured out. They've had the venue, catering, flowers and everything else selected months in advance. Now it's just the smaller details. They are working on the seating arrangements and final details for the reception. I cannot wait for her and Jorden's wedding I know it will be so beautiful.
