Knock knock knock.
"Minjae ?"
Knock knock knock.
"Honey, it's your mother, can you open up for me?"
He didn't move. Honestly, why would he move ? After the events of last night, he didn't want to see anyone besides his brother. Unfortunately, he knew better than to not open the door. After groaning, he rolled over and trailed towards it.
The boy didn't open the door yet, rethinking his decision before he finally did.
Oh. He regretted it. Obviously his father had to also be in front of him. "Yes, mom ?"
She smiled, turning to glance at her husband before giving her attention to her son. "We've ... well, I've come to talk to you. You know, about last night." He tensed, his eyes panning to the devious man behind her.
"I'm fine, mom. There's nothing to talk about." His voice was low, as if he wanted to just shrivel up and die at the moment. Right when his mother was going to speak, the voice of the devil arose.
"She said she needs to talk to you."
Minjae rolled his eye as he stood up straight, eyes glaring at his supposed father. "I said there's nothing to talk about, what more do you want from me ?"
Oh how he didn't like that one bit, moving his wife to the side and raising his hand. The lad prepared for the impact with his eyes tightly shut. After a while and a sound of commotion, his eyes opened to see Minjoon pushing his dad into his room. "Hyung ..?"
He didn't even get a response, flinching at the sound of the door slamming. His mother obviously doesn't seem phased, a sigh brushing past her lips before she turned around and walked back to her bedroom.
"Fucking hate it here," the boy grumbled as he gathered his things to freshen up. Surprisingly, he made it out the bathroom before his father was set free from Minjoon's hold.
Minjae sighed and put on his clothes, listening to the yells and shouts between his brother and father. He grabbed his bag and his phone before climbing out his window, landing on the old blankets he laid under it.
Today was a day free of family drama. Well, at least for the time being. His legs led him towards the nearby convenience store, "good afternoon, noona !" He happily greeted before he grabbed some snacks.
"Hey, Jae. How's it going ?" Her sweet voice flowed through the store, obviously enjoying her chance to see him. He comes every once in a blue moon. "Eh. Having a shit start of my day. How about you, pretty lady ?"
This is his usual routine, flirting with her was evidently his favorite thing to do. He smiled as her voice filled his ears once again, "same old, same old." That caused him to chuckle, his ears used to hearing the same thing every time.
He grabbed some ramen and a few bags of chips before bumping into someone, "hey ! watch where you're going." He heard a soft grunt before multiple apologies following after. "I'm sorry ..."
Oh.
Oh God.
It's him.
The lad immediately stood up straight, staring as the male rambled on and on about not seeing him. He couldn't care less about that. What he really cared about was how majestic he looked in his tight compression shirt and baggy grey sweats, how his hair was sticking onto his sweaty forehead showing evident signs of his recent workout.Fuck.
"I could pay for your things if that's al-" "you're so fucking hot."
Are you fucking serious right now ?
Minjae groaned before he dropped his head, running a hand over his face in frustration. "I'm sorry for what i just said, and you don't have to apologize." On the other hand, Anton stood there flabbergasted. His cheeks burned a bright red from the sudden bluntness of his words.
He wanted to apologize. He didn't care if the male didn't see it as a big deal, he wanted to make it up. He raised his hands and shook them in front of Minjae, "My mom owns the cafe down the street from here, would you ... like to maybe go there with me ?"
"Me ?" He couldn't believe it. The boy who seems too shy to even talk to him is asking him to get coffee together. Anton grew more embarrassed as he lowered his head and nodded. Oh there's no way in hell Minjae would miss out on this opportunity.
"Everything ok over there ?" Sieun voice flowed again from behind the counter, confused by the sudden silence from Minjae. He smiled, "I'm ok, noona, don't worry." The male then glanced up at Anton, slightly grimacing at the small height difference.
"Of course, let me pay for our snacks first."
