"The album's good Doll." Elijah said from behind Dollie, she barely remembered arriving at his parents, but Bobby had pleaded with her to go, so he wouldn't feel ostracised by Elijah's irritated glares.
She turned to face him, looking him up and down before looking around. "Grace not around?" She questioned him, wondering where the girl was. Elijah shook his head "No, no she uhm, we broke up." He said, he didn't sound all that sad by it.
"Is Bonnie here?" Elijah asked her, wanting to change the topic from Grace, to their daughter. Dollie was tempted to say no, but she didn't. "She's with your sisters. I think they said they were going to read some books to her." Dollie replied plainly.
"Doll I fucked up, badly, but I want to be involved with her again, I was a dick to you, but I regret that, I need to focus on you two now." He told her with a sense of passion she hadn't seen since 2018.
"I'm going to France for a few months with Bon, if you're being truthful about wanting to be present, come with me, I have an AirBnB rented for two and a half months." She told him, was the decision to spring this on him well thought out? Not at all. But she yearned for the opportunity to spend her days with Elijah again, she missed connection with someone other than her daughter.
"I'll do it." Elijah nodded. "Whatever it takes Dol, I mean it." He told her, she gave him a soft smile, it was a stark contrast from the glares he had been getting for the past several months.
