Ten demons

Y/n's POV:  

I was walking in the woods while it was night it was dark and cold a perfect time for a demon to strike. I was about ten miles from headquarters but I kept going.

Then I heard a scream.

I ran towards the screaming and saw a dead woman with a child in her arms. I walked over and looked for a pulse....

Nothing.

I looked at the child I saw him trembling in his mothers arms I think. I poked the child's head to see if it's still alive and it was.

"Are you ok? What happened?" I asked but no response from the child it looked at me with fear in its eyes.

"What happened?" I asked again, but no answer instead the kid did something with its hands and I realized the child was deaf.

Then I heard something in the woods.

"Come out you coward." I yelled and out of nowhere something lunged at me but I cut its head off with one swing of my sword.

"Weak..." I said as I look back at the child.

I don't know why but I could understand the hand gestures that the child was giving me.

"Me... mom... walking... in... forest... and... a... creature... come... and... killed... mom" is what I read.

I felt bad but I put up my hands and started to sign back I don't know how but I think my hands just remember. I sign back;

"It's ok little one, come with me and I'll protect you" I signed back I saw the surprise look in the kid eyes and I smiled.

The kid stood up and walked over to me and the mother... I'm sorry... I'll protect your kid.

I walked as I killed five more on the way back, there was this one demon who was pretty strong but I killed it in three swings. 

Are demons really this weak?

Maybe they are but I was told about the twelve kizuki six lowers, and six highers the lower demons are weaker than the higher demons but the lower demons are stronger than any other demons I'm killing right now.

I'm trying to focus on the sounds in the woods but I can't because of this child here. I can feel the fear and sadness coming from this kid. He looked about five the most but on younger than five.

Is this how the hashira feel when they find a child? Probably.

I stopped as I put my hand on the handle of my sword sensing a demon near by me and the kid. But it was a different sense I gotten from the other demons I killed it was... stronger?

Could it possibly be a lower ranked demon? No they can't be, they shouldn't be this close to headquarters it's too dangerous for them.

I put out a hand to sign "hide" and the kid did.

"So... your a demon slayer?.. what fun" a voice was heard in the trees I looked up trying to locate or pinpoint where it's coming from.

"Come out, coward!" I yelled as I pulled out my sword. I jumped out of the way as a strange substance strike towards me. How did this demon know I was a demon slayer I don't have the form yet... oh I'm dumb my sword of course.

"Flame breathing: first form: unknowing fire" I said as I went for the voice. I slice the arm off but I missed the head... it's fast... then I heard a scream... I looked to see the kid arm in the demons hand I felt... scared and mad...

"So there you are..." I heard the demon said as he tightens the grip around the boy's arm as he screamed I felt something snapped in side me.

The next second I was on the other side of the demon.

I cut off the arm that was holding the boy and I looked back at the demon with a death glare as I gripped my sword.

No one's POV
"Demons like you should die! Hurting a small child like that! You heartless creatures!" You yelled as he position yourself as you lunged at the demon.

Your expression never changed as you fought this demon. You looked closer and saw...

"Lower 4"

You then smirked as your sword came in contact with your sword.

"Say hello to Satan for me" you said as you cut off the head, the head rolled away as the body collapsed into the ground as you looked at the head it was screaming and yelling at you. 

You ignored it as you walked over to the boy holding his arm in pain. You went down on him be knee as you looked at the boy.

"How bad does it hurt?" You signed but the kid was too much in pain to answer. You felt bad and looked back at the crumbling body you felt mad but you tried to stay calm.

You looked at the boy's arm it was bleeding and broken. You remembered Shinobu bandaging someone before with the alike injury this kid had. You ripped your pants and now... there shorts...

"I'm going to wrap this around your arm to make it feel better." You signed as the boy nodded. You did your thing and the boy whence in pain but you did your best not to hurt the boy.

The demon you killed was the eighth you killed. You picked up the boy and held him as you made your way back.

And the test was done.

On your way you killed two demons with one swing of your sword. You were now in the front gate of headquarters you entered and was immediately met by your trainer.

"Hello-

His sentence faltered as his eyes landed on the kid you had in your arms.

"I don't know the name, but his mother is dead and has a broken arm, found him on a trail I took." You told rengoku as he nodded.

"I see take him to Kocho" he ordered.

"Yes, and the ten demons I killed are done..." you walked passed him before adding.

"And lower 4 rank demon is dead" you said as you walk away.

His eyes widen as you said that he looked at your retreating body.

"Lower 4?" He asked himself. 

You walked in the butterfly mansion as you were met with Aoi. When she saw the little boy she immediately took him in.

You placed him on one of the beds.

"Are you ok? Does this hurt?" Aoi asked the boy but he didn't answer.

"Hey I'm talking to you." She said.

"The boy is deaf." You said

"Oh... that's explains then how do I communicate with him?" Aoi asked herself.

"Let me" you asked as you walked towards the boy.

"This girl will help your arm. She will make your arm feel better" you signed as he nods and looks at the girl and lets her look at his arm. She was shocked as she looked at you.

"You speak hand language?" She asked.

"Yeah I guess so. I don't know I just let my hands move" you said honestly as you look at her.

"Ok" she said.

Three days passed and you spent a lot of time with the boys getting to know him. It turns out he's six and his name is ki-sh-mo (I made up that name ok?) and his mom died protecting him. Sad...

You were going to ask a question but a crow appeared on the window ceil.

Crow: "Caw! Caw! You are summoned a meeting with the Master and The flame hashira this instant!" Then the crow flew away.

You looked at the kid and smiled.

"I'll be back" you sign then left.

Making your way to the Meeting.
