"Mangy mutt!"
"Animal!"
"She must be homeless!"
Ana cowered into the lockers, her eyes squeezed shut. The bullies continued to poke at her. She covered her ears, hoping to block out the sound.
"You belong in the pound!"
A tear formed in Ana's eye and slid down her cheek.
"She probably eats dog food!"
With that, Ana took off down the hall and ran out of her school. Her cyclone of a head of hair bounced up and down while she ran. Ana fled blindly, her vision smudged by tears.
Making a sharp turn, Ana sprinted into the forest. She slowed to a walk when Ana was sure no one would hear her. *sniff* "They-they'll pay. Yeah, I'll make em' pay," Ana snuffled. She walked to an opening, completely submerged by trees. She found a stick on the ground, using it to scratch symbols into the dirt.
Mumbling words of another language, Ana watched the symbols begin to glow. A gust of wind moved the tree branches around the opening. As clouds closed in, Ana let her hair swoosh around her face, laughing like a crazed physcopath.
The next day Ana visited the local animal shelter. "That one," Ana said to the lady standing by her.
"You sure? He's not looking to well," the lady replied.
"Yes I'm sure."
"Well okay," the lady said, handing Ana a leash hooked on to the dog's collar.
{Magic time skip}
Ana led her new dog down the sidewalk late at night. She stopped in front of a run down house. "There it is, my bully's house," Ana whispered to her dog. "You know what to do." She bent down and unhooked the leash. "Go Lucifer, teach my bully not to pick on a mutt like me."
With that the dog, Lucifer, launched at the house. He disappeared into the walls. Moments later, a blood curdling scream sounded from inside the house. Lucifer appeared next to Ana with a blood-stained mouth. Ana leaned over to pet him, whispering, "Hah, guess I am a mutt."
