Three and Four get their own bags of food. We go to the screen and brush up on our world history. We print off a map of the world. We watch the video on the creation of the cells, and mark every place where the cells are. We pack extra pairs of clothing and set off. The second Three and Four strep out of the cell, they fall to the ground, staring up. I smile as they gaze in awe.
"Welcome to the real world."
They stumble up as I look around the map.
"We will start here." I hand them small things, like the one I used to open up their cell. I show them how to cut open a cell and wake up the people. The family looks at us, inquisitive and scared. We quickly explain our plan, and lead them outside. They stumble to the ground, gasping at all the colors. I smile, still amazed at this amazing world.
Three, Four and I walk around our entire settlement, slicing into cells, and letting the people go. Many of them do not understand what we are rescuing them from, until we let them outside. The beauty and colors are so amazing, many people fall. In about 10 hours, we manage to rescue the entire colony, about 50 pods. That night, we gather the rescued in the center of the cells.
"Hello rescued!" The people look at us, not quite sure how to respond, "Tonight, we are here to tell you why we rescued you." All murmurs stop and all eyes face me.
"I am Three, it was my transport day and my mom got back her memory and told me to swim out of the transport stream. The hands got her and the other set put me under this tube. Green gas filled the room. I was getting transported, but I saw my family choking. I swam out of the stream and found our cell.." I pause, looking into the crowd, "The Editors killed my family, and they could have done the same to yours, so Three, Four and I decided to rescue everyone from their sealed fate." Uproar erupts in the crowd. People questioning my story, our trust and the editors. A small voice stands out in the uproar,
"What about the others?", I look at a small Three, looking up at me, hopeful. I hop off the large mound I was standing on, grabbing the girl.
"What do you think we should do?"
"Give them colors, like the ones I saw today." I smile and set her down, climbing back up.
"Today was a new start for you, all of you. The editors are not able to control you if you are not in cells. I propose you create a new life, take the building materials from the cells and make new homes, like the people before the war. Use the replicators for food. As for us.." I look back at Four and Three, they nod, "we are going to save the world." My eyes start to water as Four and Three laugh. An uproar erupts in the crowd with cheers, boo's and smiles. I climb off the mound and Three and Fours arms,
"Come on, they will figure it out themselves." We grab our bags of supplies and wave to the people, believing the thing we did was some sort of heroic masterpiece. Leaving the practical babies to learn how to do things naturally, and by themselves. We hike over the dune of sand, watching the bright orb lower itself. At almost dusk, we find an oasis. Large green sticks plunge out of the fertile ground. We stop, staring in awe at this masterpiece of color and nature. Three grabs my arm and together we plunge down the hot dunes, running at top speed. We reach the outskirts of the mini paradise. Color spills out from every corner. A pool of liquid glistens in the light. Flowers and orchids bloom in magnificent colors. Four sits down and stares at this magnificence. Four and I sit down next to her. We stare over the glistening water, watching the lights rays dance atop of the liquids surface. I lean back and I sigh, relieved from the tire of sitting up.
