On the Way Down

I don't have much time, we are stuck on the top of a ten story building, with so many hostiles below us that we'll have to get through, I don't know if we're going to survive this. I'll log another entry when I have time, if I'll ever have time after this.....

As we look out the window, all of us wondering, "are we going to make it out of here?" None of us knowing the answer. We look at each other, but before long, being the valiant leader that she is, Kelly springs into action, "Okay, is there a map of this building? Any sort of information that will help us plan to get out of here?" Annika and I start looking around, when Annika shouts, "Over here, guys! I found it!" Kelly and I rush to Annika, she is standing under a map of the top five floors, as the rest would be too big to put on the map. "Great, Annika! Now, this is only us, and the four floors underneath, I'm assuming that there will be another map of the bottom five floors there, but, let's have a look at this one for now." Kelly clears a large table from the clutter on top of it and sets the map down on the table. "So, we are here," Kelly says, as she points to our location on the map, the furthest distance away from the staircase or the elevator. "The stairs are over here, which is on the other side of the building, we need to make it there without any deterrence, because I am fairly positive that they have an alarm system here, if that goes of, the whole rat's nest will come to us." Kelly explains. "Alright, so how do we do that?" I ask, "Well, there are a series of connected rooms in this building, so I'm assuming that it's a hotel or something like that, and if we don't want to be seen, that's our key" Kelly says.

"So, what would happen, if we do get caught?" Annika asks, "Well, we fight until we can't fight anymore, and that will be when we are dead." Kelly answers, Annika shudders after she says that, but somehow doesn't show any reluctance or fear. We all look around the room we are in, to see if there is anything to use as a weapon, after we ca find anything, we each just rip off a leg of the table and carry them on our sides as we walk out. "Okay, so I walked out, and there are about six to eight men in this hallway, so I would recommend going this way." Kelly starts walking to the door that connects this room from the next, when we hear a guy turning the doorknob, "Is this room locked?" He ask, another man sound like he is standing next to him, "Of course it's not locked! I checked them all when we got here, let me at it." The man then turns the doorknob, and it still won't budge, "Good thing I put that chair in the door, or we would've been compromised before we even left this room!" Kelly says, as we go to the next room.

So, it looks like most of the men are in the hallway, but some of them are in the room, Kelly points to a man that is in the same room as them, but looking a different way. "Watch this," she says, as she quietly goes behind the man then chokes him out. Annika looks shocked, "Is he okay?" She asks. Kelly says, "Yes, he's fine, he'll just be unconscious for somewhere between thirty minutes and the rest of his life, you never know..." "oh..." Annika thinks about it. "Well, now that that's been settled.." Annika grabs a combat knife and a revolver from the guys body, " We now have protection for anyone, or anything in here..shall we continue?" Kelly says. "Yes, we should make haste, we don't know when more will come in." I warn. So we go down a few more doors and come across another soldier. "You're turn" Kelly whispers to me, as she gestured towards the man. I nod, and deeply inhale, I slowly approach the man and start choking him from behind, but I must not have had a strong enough hold on him, as he pulls his head forward, and gives me a powerful head butt, I let go of him, as my nose starts gushing blood and I fall to the floor, I see Kelly and the man fighting, but she then overwhelms him and stabs him with the combat knife, luckily, they didn't make enough noise to alert any other guards. "You better start practicing with that" Kelly advises me, but I then say, "How am I going to practice? Between now and when the next bad guy comes?" Kelly says, "I don't mean now, I mean after we get outta this rat's nest." So we then continue one, room after room, floor after floor, until we reach the second floor. Then all hell breaks loose.
