Madame Elizabeth's School for Girls was known for it's outstanding students. The school had a reputation of turning any young, childish girl into a beautiful, smart..... PERFECT young lady. The headmaster of MESG, Madame Elizabeth herself, was very proud of her pupils. Well, most of them....

Caroline Manning was not like the other girls. She was always late for class, could never find her school uniform, and never had the proper manners of the other students. One morning, much like all the other mornings at MESG, Caroline woke up to find that her first class starts in five minutes. She got out of bed, brushed her teeth in two quick swipes, and totally forgot about her long, pail blonde, tangled hair. Caroline couldn't find her uniform....again.... so she threw on what she could find which happened to be a black dress shirt with a white tie and a white mini skirt with black and white stockings that ended mid-thigh. She quickly put on a pair of Converse before she ran out of her dorm.

Caroline was busy stuffing books in her backpack and wasn't paying any attention to where she was going until she ran into someone and fell on her backside.

"OUCH! Watch where your going freak!"

Caroline looked up too see Mary Anne, one of the wealthiest girls in school, look down at her with pure hatred. Mary Anne was beautiful, with long black hair as smooth as silk and blue eyes so bright they seemed to shine. But she was rotten, all her friends were fake and she was horribly rude to anyone that had one penny less then she did. she looked down at Caroline like she was a pathetic joke.

Caroline looked up with big green eyes at Mary Anne. She then got up and brushed off some dust that stuck to her dress shirt. "Sorry MA, but I'm late for class, got to go."

Before Caroline took a step Mary Anne stepped in front of her. "First of all, my name isn't MA, it's Mary Anne. And second of all, your always late! I'm surprised they even let you in this school. I'm guessing they need lab rats.

Caroline was just about to ask what she meant by 'lab rats'.... But she never got the chance.

"Now why are my two favorite students arguing in the hall while class had already started?"

Caroline and Mary Anne spun on their heels to see Madame Elizabeth's perfect white teeth smiling down at them.

"Forgive me headmaster," Mary Anne said as she took hold of Madame Elizabeth's hand and kissed it gently. "But this.... this.... HOOLIGAN was running down the hallways like she was mad and ran strait into me. All because she was late.... AGAIN!"

Caroline just smiled. "Sorry to rain on your parade MA.... But your late as well."

Mary Anne was so outraged that her honey skin turned a deep shade of red. "LIKE YOUR MISS PERFECT!!!!"

Madame Elizabeth interrupted. "Now, Mary Anne where are your manners? Caroline, like yourself, is one of my top students."

Caroline's smile widened as Mary Anne's jaw dropped and her eyes were wide as dish plates. Madame Elizabeth then turned to her. "Now dear, you go to class. Mary Anne and I are going to have a little.... discussion."

Maybe she was seeing things, but Caroline thought she saw fear in Mary Anne's eyes.

                                                                                   * * *

Caroline was supposed to be going to class, but her but her mind was somewhere else. The memory of Madame Elizabeth calling her 'one of my top students' replayed in her mind, keeping a smile plastered on her face.

A sudden chill brought her out of her daze. She found herself in part of the school she never saw before. It was a long narrow hallway. About three doors lined each side of the hall, each one with a small, dirty, clouded window. The floors were dusty as if no one cleaned it in a long time. Caroline's smile faded as she slowly walked up to one of the doors and looked through it's cloudy window.
