"Ugh. Why can't things be easy anymore?" You said walking over to Carol and Axel, the last of the prisoners.
"What's got you so huffy?" Axel said chuckling at the way you walked with your shoulders hung low.
"I hate this heat! It makes chores so much more difficult." You straightened back up, wiping more sweat off your face.
"How you feeling emotionally?" Carol asked. She was the most caring one when it came to you and Daryl.
"Better, but I'm on that stage where I'm not so much caring about our relationship, but more of if he is safe or not. You know?" Carol just nodded her head. Axel was about to say something when a bullet went through him.
"WHAT THE..." Before you could recollect yourself more gun fire was heard and bullets were flying everywhere. One pierced your shoulder as you ducked behind a garbage can. As you were sitting there watching dust kick up as bullets hit the ground, you shrunk yourself to make sure you didn't get hit again. You gathered up enough courage to peak around and make sure Carol was safe, bad idea. Bullets quickly whizzed by again.
~Moments Later~
The silence was deafening, but soon overran by people shouting your name. Your vision was blurred from tears you didn't know escaped your eyes. You slowly got up weary of any movement that would affect your shoulder. By now you lost so much your hand was covered.
"(Y/N)!" Maggie ran to help you. You couldn't speak and your eyelids were growing heavy. "Hey stay up (Y/N). We'll help you." You tried, but soon you were out.
~Hours Later~
"Ugh someone turn off the sun." You said as you began to wake. A shadow soon blocked the sun. "Thank you." You heard a deep chuckle escape from the man who blocked the light. Your eyes immediately shot open worried you had been hearing things, but were relieved when you saw Daryl standing there.
"How ya feelin'?" Daryl asked leaning against the cell doorway. "If I had a dollar for every time I was asked that after you left." You went to sit up, but regretted it as pain shot through your arm.
"Hey take it easy." Daryl came rushing by your side to help you up. "No I'm fine without you." You sat up with a little struggle.
"Look I'm sorry. I..." "Oh bull shit! What kind of half hearted apology is that." You laughed bitterly.
"(Y/N)..."
"Oh no don't you (Y/N) me. You turned your back on me, on us for what 'blood'. 'Blood' that beat me then sent me to get raped by the name who is terrorizing my home! You just forgot all about that though because he's 'blood'. I have given you more love and care than he ever could! But you threw that all away!" You were now standing trying to match Daryl's height.
He pulled you closer to him then kissed you with every ounce of sorry he could give you. "That was a little better of an apology."
He smiled "Walking away from you was the dumbest thing I have ever done since this stupid outbreak. I love you (Y/N)." "I love you too, but you are going to have to do a whole lot better than that if you want me to accept the fact the your shit for brains brother is staying here." You said regaining your frown and walking out. Daryl just shook his head with a smile that soon disappeared as he realized you insulted Merle.
"Hey!" He then chased after you.
