Chapter 3: Pizza Delivery

Chapter 3: Pizza Delivery 

I froze as I gazed into Alec Decker's eyes.  Why was he here?

"What are you doing here!?"  I shout trying to get over the fact that this jerk is standing on my porch. 

"Umm well I'm pretty sure that you ordered a cheese pizza and I figured you might want it.  I mean it's kinda my job hence the cloths."  He replies while pointing to his pizza delivery uniform.  I roll my eyes at his comment. 

"Well don't expect a tip!" I howl. 

"Well gee okay then blondie."  He says while giving me a devilish smirk. 

"Okay," I pause. "My names actually Avery not 'blondie'.  How stupid are you?"  I ask him actually wanting to know the answer. 

"I know what you name is, it's  just funny to call you that."  He laughs and glances around my house searching for something.  What makes him think he has the right to do that? 

"Now what are you doing?"  I glare at him again hoping he's not going to do what I think he is going to do. 

"So are your parents home?"  He asks, not answering my previous two questions.

"Umm you mean parent...and no she's not."  I reply but this time in a sad tone.  I stair down at the ground while I play with the hem of my shirt remembering why my dad isn't here with me.  I feel Alec push me aside as he steps into my house and sets the pizza down in the kitchen and walks over to the the couch and sits down.  And there we go, he did exactly what I didn't want him to do.

"Ummm don't you have a job to get to?"  I say trying to get him out of my house. 

"Nope.  That was my last run for the day."  He then winks at me and turns the T.V on.

I sit on the other side of the couch as far away from Alec as possible but still being able to relax...a little.  We were currently watching some murder/crime show that was boring me to death (no pun intended.) 

"Alec!  I swear I'm getting so bored!  we've been watching this show for like the past two hours!"  I yell finally getting enough of all of this. 

"Awwww Ms. Renner are you getting tired of me?"  He answers and gives me another devilish smirk. 

"Frankly yeah I am."  I say wanting to go to bed.  It's almost 11:30 and I'm stuck with some guy I don't know.

"Well I know what'll make you want me."  he says while wiggling his eyebrows and laughing. 

"Umm no, no I'm good."  I say.  I hit him in the arm for that gross comment.

"What you have to do that for Ave?"  He asks.  All I can do is sit there looking down at my lap.  No one calls me that, well except for my dad.  I still can't get over what he did to me and my mom.  I feel my eyes start to water so I quickly cover them and try to hide my shame.  I can feel a hand on my back and I look up at Alec.

"You okay?" He asks.  from what I can tell he's actually being honest and not being some jack ass.

"Yeah...yeah I'm okay."  I answer still just wishing I could vanish.

"Tell me.  Whats going on?"  He sounds like he means it.  I look at his eyes and they've changed.  At first his eyes where harsh and mean but now, they look clam and loving.  His hand is still placed on my back but now he is moving it around my back.  I assume he's trying to comfort me.   

"I...Well...I think you need to go.  It's getting late."  I look up at him a remove his hand.  I get up and escort him to my door. 

"You know you can trust me right." He says.  I nod giving him a small smile as he walks out the door and into the night.  I shut the door letting all my feelings out.  I can't believe I was about to tell him.
