How Do I?

How do I live when you are not with me? 

How can I drink a cup of coffee when I’m drowned in my misery? 

Everything I see triggers a memory; 

I’m so numb that sweaters don’t keep me warm.  

I’m so cold that winter seems all around. 

So how do I live this eternity? 

It’s only been six months but every day feels like the day you left me. 

I’m just so cut off and away. 

I barely hear a word my friends say. 

I need those arms that wrap around me 

Want to feel your lips engulf me. 

I want your perfume to linger on me while we are tangled up in sheets. 

I want to wake with you, 

your eyes on me…. 

I wish this was a dream cause then I know that when I wake up your next to me. 

How do I live when you’re not around 

How do I live when my feet don’t hold my ground? 

How do I live when I can scarcely breathe? 

How can I live when you’re not with me? 

Where you are I want to be. 

Take everything back, egos in the bag, 

Truth is I’m in love with you. 

Mistakes were profanities were shared. 

You left in the storm, I let you carry on. 

I should have called or left a text…. Not let you go away like this. 

But I messed up. 

Hope this letter finds you, 

Hope I can convince you. 

Baby I love you, much more than I used too. 

I know that you still love me too. 

So how can I live without you?
