Aapka armaan aapka naam
Mera taraana aur nahi
Inn jhukti palkon ke siva
Dil ka thikaana aur nahi
Jachta hi nahi aakhon mein koi
Dil tumko hi chaahe toh kya

O mere dil ke chain
O mere dil ke chain
Chain aaye mere dil ko dua kijiye..

"Are you cheating on her? Or did you do something in New York that counts as cheating?" Nishant's voice rose, filled with disbelief.

"NO! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?" Nirvaan shot back, his tone laced with both anger and defensiveness.

"Then what the hell is wrong with you? I’ve been noticing it ever since you came back from New York. What’s the matter?" Nishant pressed on, frustration etched in every word.

"Nothing! I told you before, just stop pestering me and let me finish my work!" Nirvaan retorted sharply, his eyes darting anywhere but at Nishant.

"Fine," Nishant snapped, stepping back. "Then I’ll ask Vaani."

He was about to turn when Nirvaan’s voice sliced through the tension.

"Tu Vaani se kuch nahi puchhega!" Nirvaan’s voice cracked slightly, betraying the fear behind his command.

"Toh btao fir," Nishant countered, his tight-lipped smile hinting at the pressure he wouldn’t relent.

Nirvaan let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair before turning towards the massive glass window. His hands slipped into his pockets, his jaw clenched tight, the tension in his body palpable. The weight of the memories seemed to pierce through him, leaving cracks he couldn’t hide anymore. He knew Nishant wouldn’t back down—he never did—and frankly, Nirvaan was tired of the guilt eating him alive.

With a shaky breath, his voice broke as he finally said, "Mai New York me Reeyansh se mila tha." The words tumbled out, trembling, each syllable cutting him open.

"Reeyansh? Your school friend?" Nishant asked, his confusion evident.

Nirvaan nodded, his lips curling into a bitter smile. "Friend," he repeated, the word heavy, suffocating, as if it was a chain around his chest.

"Okay… so?" Nishant urged, his curiosity pulling him deeper.

Nirvaan swallowed hard, his throat dry as the memories surged like a flood, his chest tightening with every heartbeat. Words seemed too fragile, too inadequate to describe the storm raging within.
