𝔇eep in the oceans of darkness and pain, where screams penetrated in air and swallowed by the universe, a girl bolted through the trees, forest.. The jagged stones slashed her bare feet.
She didn't dare to slow down. Footsteps echoed behind her with screams of ‘Get her! Don't let her escape!’
The trees swayed in unison, as large droplets of rain made its appearance, washing away the trail of blood she left behind.
She ran.
Like a weak, pathetic soul, she ran to save herself, leaving hundreds to rot. The guilt won't fade, nor will the scars. But she had to survive.
She couldn't fight.
She was a lifeless soul in a breathing body.
Her fire was extinguished.
Gunshots echoed in distance. Every muscle in her body tensed for the upcoming wound. Her stiches opened, blood staining the ragged clothes.
She had to get out of here.
They won't take another part of her soul. Every muscle in her body screamed to stop, but her mind screamed the opposite. Its just a matter of time that she'll be out of here.
Holding her breath, she prayed to everyone who would listen, to do something, anything. She collapsed on her knees just as a bullet passed over her head.
No one came for her rescue. No one would.
The only person to save her was herself. She crawled towards a bush, and hid behind the leaves in silence. Every fiber hurt, every breath hurt, even keeping her eyes open was hurting. Footsteps hurled in the direction, their muffled voices alert and cruel.
If they find her, death wouldn't be something she would be getting. No, death is too easy.
Fuckers had got night vision goggles. It took every effort not to let out a whimper. She layed flat on the ground, the thorns piercing in her back like thousand needles.
Nothing of a big deal.
Heart in her throat, she closed her eyes shut, letting her tears fall.
This is just a nightmare, she reminded herself, her words growing more and more unconvincing.
And the nightmare will end tonight.
