Picture of Hazel, the girl at the end of the chapter.
I've been here for the past 20 years. No way out. Always stuck inside the cemetery. No matter how much I pried at the souls they didn't let me out.
It was Sunday and all the ghosts were at their graves today, well all except me. I have been the odd one out since day one because I'm not a ghost spirit as they were, plus I still had my body unlike them which they envied.
I had no idea why. I was trying to figure out what I was but everytime I tried I failed.
I had overheard there was a library inside the old oak tree filled with all supernatural creatures information within books in the library.
Filled with information that I desperately needed. Because the changes I've encountered the past 2 decades surprised me and the ghost folk. Even with their surprise they did not speak one word to me. I had become weak as years passed, but nothing could help me gain my strength back being stuck in a lot of dead people.
One day a human went inside the cemetery to visit someone. As soon as he stepped foot in here I smelt a delicious scent, a scent that had my gums and teeth aching and the sound of a thump thump continually as he took each step towards a grave.
I followed the mortal and as soon as he was in my line of vision my teeth lengthen to fangs and I felt my eyes turn darker.
He couldn't see me because of the mist and for that I was grateful for once. I just stayed and watched him talk to the piece of rock until he stood up to leave. As soon as he turned I was behind him at a inhuman speed.
Even though I knew he couldn't see me, I had no idea what I was doing but all I knew was that what I'm about to say he'll hear. I looked into his eyes and said, "Don't scream."
The man had stopped and that's when I attacked. I sank my teeth into his neck as I sucked in pools of blood flowing imto my mouth quenching the thirst I've had since day one.
As I took each and every gulp of blood I felt power and energy return to my body.
I was meaning to drain him all, but my senses came to me as I realized what I was doing to an innocent person. I'm not a monster even though what I just did was a monstrosity.
I pulled away from him and looked him in the eye again and say, "You won't remember this." I see his pupil dialate before I push him out on his way and stand at the gate as I see him leave.
Hopefully no one will question it, but I know that wouldn't happen. As I walked to the door of the library.
I was feeling good and felt power surge through my body still from the high of the blood. I tried to break open the door but they had put a lock on it.
I had kicked the door, hit it with my sword but in the end I failed again. No matter how hard I tried I could not get out of the gates.
I even used my sword again to pick the lock but no use it sent me and my sword back once again hitting my tomb. But even if I can't get out myself there are only two way to get out and only two.
The only way to pass the gates is either have permission from the "souls" which is useless no matter how much you ask. Or a human has to let us out.
But the second one is as usless as the first one, no human can see us because of the mist. And I already tried the first one....multiple times.
A time when I tried to ask or negotiate my way out of this hell. He turned me down as usual, but that day I was not having it as usual.
{ Flashback }
I was staring at the rose pendant hanging from the thin silver chain. I looked at it closely and see every fine detail of the rose.
I felt like it had a meaning, and I needed to find out that meaning soon. I was getting restless of being in here for so long that I pushed myself up and walked up to a ghost spirit.
I said, "Why must you keep me here. I have no place to be here."
He looked down at me and grinned, "No you don't, but you can't leave." He said.I growl a inhuman growl and say, "I should leave if I want to leave." His grin turned into a snarl as he bites out, "You're staying and that's final."
And leaves me there being speechless. I will get out I cow silently no matter how much it takes. "Fine but can I have new clothes, these smell really bad." I say with a grimace.
He sighs before he snaps his fingers and I see my self in dark black jeans, black boots, a dark plum colored tight tank top and a leather jacket over it with my original clothes and sword in my hands.
He points to my tomb and says, "Now go."{end of flaskback}
I ran to the gate and threw my sword at it but I was thrown back.
I sit as close to the gate I could get yelling "Help, get me out of here!" Even though no one could hear me, I was too mad to care. I softly murmur, "Please help me."
I see humans walk around aimlessly but not one looks into the cemetery. I groan as I get up and walk over to my tomb when I hear soft giggling.
My curiosity gets the better of me. I turn a corner of my grave to see a girl around my age with reddish ginger hair kneeling down on a grave talking to a spirit.
Not like a normal person looking like they're talking to the air, but she looked as if she was genuinely carrying a conversation with a spirit.
Suddenly my thirst starts to make it's appearance as well as my fangs. I slowly walk up to her when she turns and smiled at me.
Wait at me? She holds out her hand waiting for me to shake it. I grab her hand and shake it.
That is when it hit me, she can see, she can help me get out. "You can see me?" I ask my voice wavering.
