"MOM, DAD!" Emmie had been watching the news. This was a rare occurrence for her, but today was different. She needed to listen to the latest update on the mars project. After waiting for what seemed like forever, she finally heard it. Emmie jolted up from her spot on the brown leather couch and ran through the narrow hallways passing numerous family photos as she did, into the brightly lit kitchen.
"EMMIE" her mother shrieked, "Don't run through the house!" Emmie met her mother's concerned gaze, as she heaved, breathing heavily for air. "They did it mom." Her mother's raised an eyebrow in confusion, "What did they do?" Emmie grinned with excitement, pleased at her next words,
"They finished the mars project mom, we can live on mars."
