We Started off as Friends

Chapter 2

Neveah's p.o.v

"Wake up honey." Neveah's mom said while shaking her gently so she would wake up.

"Mmmmm." Nevaeh mumbled rolling over.

"Okay, well since you're up we need to talk."

"About what?" Neveah said still half way asleep.

"Well my job called today and I'm being transferred to Florida an-"

"Woahhhhh. Hold up. Uh-uh. I ain't moving. We've been in New Jersey my whole life. I can't leave Devin. I'm all he's got, and he's all I got. I can't leave him now."

"Baby, we have to."

"No. You have to. You can just leave me here. I can stay at Devin's, I'm pretty sure his mom wouldn't mind. She loves me."

"Sweety, you can't just invite your self to someone's house."

"But I do it everyday."

"Well, you won't be able to do it anymore. You need to get up and start packing. We have to be out the house by tomorrow."

"Mom I love you and all, but I'm not leaving."

"Then who are you gonna stay with?"

"I told you Devin."

"You're not staying at his house! Now stop arguing with me and start packing." And with that she headed out the door.

All I can think about is Devin. What is he gonna think when I tell him I have to leave? Should I call him or wait till he gets out of rehearsal? I'll just call him now.

(Otp w/ Dev)
N- Devin? She said holding back her tears.
D- you okay?
N- no
D- what's wrong?
N- I- I- have to...
D- you have to what? Just tell me Neveah. You tell me everything else.
N- I... Have... To... Move. She said in between sobs.
D- chill Neveah this isn't funny. You are joking right?
N- why would I be joking Dev?
D- I'm coming over.
N- but you're in rehearsal.
D- but your more important. I need to be with you right now, rehearsal can wait.
N- well the doors unlocked so just come in.
D- alright I'll be there in 10
N-okay
(End of convo)

Dev's p.o.v

"Veahhhh!" He yelled.

"I'm upstairs." She replied.

"Alright I'm coming up." He said coming up the stairs.

-in Neveah's room
"Devin..." Neveah said while Devin came in and held her.

"Why do you have to leave?"

"It's my moms job. I don't wanna go. I promised you that I'd never leave. I can't go!!! I won't go! I can't leave you. Your all I have."

"Neveah you better be in there packing! And since Devin is here he can help you." Her mom called out.

"Can you go talk to her?!" Neveah asked.

"Yeahh, I gotchu cause you ain't leaving me. But start packing because I don't want you to get yelled at again and I don't won't her to kick me out."

"Okay."

-downstairs

"Hey mom..." Devin said walking up to Neveah's mom.

"Did she send you down here to try to change my mind?"

"Uhhhhh... Yes, but listen. Me and Neveah have known each other our whole life. We've done everything together. We go everywhere together. It's like the other half of me is just walking out of my life."
