The cool night air hit me as I stepped outside, the sharp contrast to the stuffy warmth of the club sending a shiver down my spine. My heart was still racing from the strange encounter with the man. My mind buzzed with questions. Who was he? Why had he approached me out of nowhere? And what was up with that unsettling scent? I had a feeling it wasn't just some random alpha looking for a hookup.
I pressed the ride service app again, watching the little map spin as I waited for my ride to arrive. The city around me seemed quieter now, the sounds of distant traffic humming like a lullaby. I just wanted to go home, curl up in my nest, and forget about this night altogether.
But my peace didn't last long. As I stood there, the hairs on the back of my neck prickled, a familiar feeling that made my pulse quicken. I turned my head sharply to see a sleek black car pulling up to the curb, the engine humming smoothly in the dark. My breath caught in my throat as the window rolled down, revealing the face of none other than the man from the club.
He was looking at me through the tinted glass with those same warm, knowing eyes. His lips curled into a smile that made my stomach flutter—part in dread, part in something else that I didn't want to admit.
"I did say we would see each other again soon didn't I?" he called out, his voice smooth and dangerously enticing. "I didn't think we were done yet."
I froze, unsure of what to do. My ride had arrived, but I had no intention of getting in that car with him. There was no way in hell I was going to be dragged into whatever game he was playing.
"No," I said, taking a small step back, "I don't know who you are, but I don't want any part of whatever this is."
His smile didn't falter, but there was a dangerous gleam in his eyes now. "You misunderstand, darling. I'm not asking for your permission," he said, his tone shifting, a little too calm. "I'm simply making sure you get home safely."
The subtle threat in his words was enough to make my omega shiver, but I refused to back down. "I'm fine. I have a ride. You don't need to worry about me."
Before I could turn to leave, the door to the car opened, and another figure stepped out. My breath hitched when I saw who it was—tall, broad-shouldered, with dark, almost black hair. His eyes met mine with an unsettling intensity, and I felt a cold chill run through me. This man... I had seen him, too. In the club. He was one of the ones from the group that had been causing the tension earlier.
"Is there a problem, Hyunjin?" the new man asked, his voice low and smooth like velvet.
Hyunjin, the one from the club, simply waved a hand dismissively. "No problem at all, Jisung," he replied with a grin, clearly unfazed by my retreating stance. "I was just making sure our guest feels... welcome."
Jisung's eyes narrowed slightly as he observed me, a flicker of something unreadable in his gaze. "You're not going to make things difficult, are you?" he asked, his voice still too calm, but his presence was suffocating. The air between us grew thick, charged with a power I couldn't name.
I opened my mouth to protest, but the words stuck in my throat. Something about the way they were looking at me made me feel trapped—like there was nowhere to run.
A sudden movement behind me startled me, and I turned sharply, my pulse spiking. A third man had appeared out of nowhere. He was tall, with sharp features, platinum blonde hair, and the kind of expression that screamed danger. His eyes were fixed on me, cold and calculating.
"You're not leaving," he said simply, and somehow, it felt like an order, not a suggestion.
My heart dropped into my stomach as panic clawed at me. "I-I don't want any trouble," I stammered, stepping back, eyes darting between them.s smile deepened, a playful glint in his eye, but the other two were less amused. "There's no trouble," Hyunjin said, his tone almost too calm to be comforting. "We just want to make sure you're safe. And we're not asking for permission, remember?"
I glanced around desperately for help, but the street was eerily empty. No one was around, no one to hear me if I screamed. I had no idea who these men were, but the weight of their gaze was suffocating, and I felt something deep inside me—the primal instinct of an omega—telling me to submit.
But I couldn't. I wouldn't.
"I don't need your protection," I said firmly, my voice shaking despite myself. "I'm fine on my own."
Hyunjin chuckled, a cold sound that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. "You don't get to make that choice, sweet omega."
Before I could react, Jisung stepped forward, blocking my path. "Get in the car. Now."
My stomach churned with dread, but I stood my ground, glaring at him. "No."
For a brief moment, the world around us seemed to pause. The night air felt heavy, thick with tension. And then, in a blink, Hyunjin was out of the car and was standing in front of me, his hand on my arm, pulling me closer with surprising strength.
"Come on," he said softly, his grip firm but not painful. "Let's not make this difficult."
I gasped, trying to pull away, but it was like trying to break free from a vice. My heart was pounding in my chest, and my thoughts were scattered.
"Let me go!" I hissed, my voice raw.
"I told you," Hyunjin murmured, leaning down so his lips brushed against my ear. "We'll meet again. And if you took those blockers and scent duller off you would know why"
The world spun as panic overwhelmed me, but before I could react, the sound of footsteps echoed from the shadows.
"Step away from her."
A new voice, dark and commanding, cut through the air like a knife.
Hyunjin paused, his grip loosening just slightly. The other two men stiffened as the newcomer stepped into view—his presence even more terrifying than the others. His aura was thick with authority, and when he locked eyes with me, I could feel the weight of his gaze settle deep within my bones.
"Who are you?" I whispered, barely able to breathe.
The man smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "I'm here to make sure things go... smoothly. Let her go, Jisung."
Jisung hesitated for a moment before releasing me, taking a step back. "Fine. But we'll be seeing you soon, sweet omega."
I stood there, heart pounding, not sure what had just happened, but one thing was clear—the night I walked into that club was only the beginning of something far more dangerous than I could have ever imagined.
