So I wake up in an hour or so and look at my phone as I squint at the follow notification for Twitter . "S-sa-m p-p-po-pottorff?" I squint again and lower my brightness . I don't know a Sam pottorff I think and so I decide to do a little "stalking" on his Twitter to see what this kid looks like . I scroll through hundreds and hundreds of tweets and some photos and dang this guy ain't to bad looking 😍 . He had tattoos all over his arms and blonde hair . But he's got a girlfriend . Ugh! I just follow him back and let it go because he's with someone . I realize as I go downstairs that mom and dad left an early birthday present for me on the counter in a blue tiny Kay's jewelry bag and I think omg! It's that necklace I wanted so I rush over to the bag and of course me being my clumsy self I am wearing socks and slip on the tile flooring in the kitchen . Ugh. Why is this floor so slippery !
I make my way to Te bag and start taking tissue paper out rapidly and it goes on forever . There's a billion of those things in that tiny bag! I finally get to the bottom and nothing is in the bag so I search through the tissue paper on the floor (I would have heard the jewelry if it dropped but just double checking) and nothing is in it so I mope upstairs and flop on the bed . Mom and dad walk in all surprised and there smiles turn to frowns when they see me laying on the bed . "Pumpkin what's wrong ?"dad says as mom has a follow up question of "did you not like your present?" Ha well no I didn't get one so how could I like it ! "No mom and dad I didn't get one from anyone..." Duh ! "Hun yes you did in the little Kay's bag on the counter ?" Mom nothing's in that bad "I looked in it and it's empty." Then mom starts freaking out . "Richie you put it in the bag right!!!?? RIGHHT???" Then dad looks at mom likes she's an idiot . Typical "Of course I did sugar I put it in there just this morning before I went to the fields ." Mom looks confused as to why I didn't ding it then and she gets up and goes looking in the kitchen for it. Me and my dad follow as he whispers "your moms lost her mind pumpkin." While laughing me and him both walk downstairs to find mom with one price of tissue paper so I'm guessing the necklace is in there . She hands it to me and it's not heavy at all so I'm surprised and have now confirmed its not a necklace I wanted . I slowly unwrap the paper from my present as I ticket falls out and I watch it drift down and it hits the floor facing up as I read the ticket .

I scream and then started crying because I was so happy ! I will finally be 18 tomorrow and be on my way to my dream place! That night I pack until 1:25 in the morning then barley sleep cause I'm so nervous and excited but dad finally walks in at 10 and asks if I'm up and ready . I nod and jump up and get in the shower get dressed brush my teeth and do my makeup and hair then grab my suit case and head off to the airport

I hug my parents one last time and they are both crying because I'm all grown up or something ha but I will not miss this town but I will miss the people in it especially my friend Matthew Espinosa from school since I had to go in Virginia because we lived so close the the Virginian school. I board my plane at 10:38 and wrist for takeoff . The plane is getting ready to go when the lady comes over the microphone *****
