I was at home, throwing clothes into my suitcase for my trip to Italy. It was time to deal with Luigi Pagano once and for all.
Noah was already packed and waiting at Dad's place. I'd gone back and forth on whether or not to take him with me, but in the end, I couldn't leave him behind. Dad was heading to Dublin for business, and there wasn't anyone else I trusted enough to take care of Noah. My brother Jamie would've been an option, but I didn't want to drag any trouble to his doorstep again.
"Ready to go?" Sawyer's voice pulled me out of my thoughts as he walked into my room.
I turned to find him dressed and ready, rocking a cream-striped summer suit. The thin chain around his neck glinted against his olive skin, and his jet-black hair was slicked back in a way that made him look like he just stepped out of an Italian fashion campaign.
"Wow," I said, my eyebrows shooting up as I looked him over. "Turn around. Let me see the whole look."
Sawyer rolled his eyes but indulged me, turning with a slight scoff and a smug smile. That triumphant glint in his eye told me everything I needed to know.
"Oh, Allegra's in Italy, isn't she?" I asked, smirking knowingly.
He nodded, failing miserably at hiding the excitement in his expression. "She's there on business," he said, his tone casual, though the sparkle in his eyes betrayed him. "Thought I'd see her when we're done with Luigi."
I grinned, watching him practically buzz with energy. "You're so cute when you're in love," I teased, leaping up and wrapping my arms around his broad shoulders.
Sawyer laughed, shaking his head as he hugged me back. "Don't start with me, Frankie."
"Oh, I'm starting," I teased, pulling away just enough to meet his eyes. "If you don't sweep her off her feet while we're there, I'm gonna do it for you."
"Yeah, yeah," he said with a grin, grabbing my suitcase. "Just focus on your part, and I'll handle mine."
"Deal," I said, following him out the door.
As we walked out of the room, Sawyer threw me a sidelong glance, his brow furrowed in that signature annoyed expression of his. "You're really gonna marry Hector?" he asked, his tone sharp but laced with a hint of disbelief.
I raised an eyebrow at him, fighting the urge to laugh. His annoyance was almost adorable. "I love him, Sawyer. So yeah, I'm marrying him," I said, my voice light, teasing him on purpose.
He scoffed, shaking his head. "I don't get it. The guy's-ugh." He waved a hand as if words couldn't even describe his disdain.
"Oh, don't act so surprised. You've never liked him," I teased, bumping my shoulder against his.
