"With time, you will see."

His words were true to her surprise.

Mr. Naid, or William as he delighted in her calling him, had been nothing but kind, generous, welcoming, and truly a breath of new air for Eden.

His affections that scared her initially were now expected, sometimes even welcomed.

He was so different.

She wondered if this was a dream.

Sixteen years of dysfunction, abuse, hatred, and living in fear ended in the least likely situations.

She was grateful for Mr. Naid.

He gave her the freedom to enjoy herself in his beautiful home.

She'd tried her hand at painting but found it wasn't her gift.

Still, Mr. Naid treasured her piece.

Everything she did was wonderful in his eyes.

She didn't know how to react.

If she reflected on his behavior, she would find his affection borderline obsessive and overbearing.

But she wouldn't.

His home was her very own utopia.

One could fault her for wanting to stay in good mind while being with him, but after what she endured in her home from her parents, shame was nowhere to be found.

It wasn't her dream home, but it was nicer than anything.

Ever.

She hoped to stay with him forever.

Or until she could find her way in the world.

Tucked away in the back of her mind were dreams of traveling abroad.

She hoped Mr. Naid would let her go.

One day.

"Eden, bunny,"

Dread and anticipation filled her heart at the sound of his voice.

She tried to tell herself that Mr. Naid was harmless, but something inside never let her feel completely at ease.

She was subconsciously waiting for something to happen.

"In the parlor, William," She called and smoothed out her dress.

His heavy footsteps sounded until he reached the parlor.

Though she'd been in his home for three months, his size still astounded her.

William Naid was as tall as he was wide.

And yet, he hadn't done a thing to overpower her.

Harmless, as he'd spoken some time ago.

"Good afternoon, my beautiful Eden," He crooned overtly, covering her hand with his massive one. "You've been under my care for three months and I am simply delighted in how beautiful you are,"

A nervous smile turned her lips as panic erupted in her.

"I see fear in your eyes, my Eden. You have nothing to be afraid of. I won't hurt you,"

No.

"Do you not believe that I have waited well? Would you deprive me of what I deserve, Eden?"
