TAEHYUNG POV
I wanted to stop her and tell her I was sorry, but I couldn't—not when I had bigger, better plans in mind.
So, I watched her walk away and leave me. I inhaled deeply, straightening up before I left the piano room.
I headed back to the main hall, and there she was; she had switched seats with Hoseok, now sitting in her place.
She seemed calm, but when I arrived at the table and took my seat, our eyes met, if only for a second.
That brief moment was enough for me to recognize the brewing storm in her gaze.
Just a few more minutes, my love.
I cleared my throat and checked my watch before taking a sip of water from the bottle in front of me.
Soon, the waitstaff began serving our food and drinks. And after people took pics of their dishes, they began eating.
The sound of knives and forks clinking against plates, along with faint chatter and laughter, filled the air over the soft music playing in the background.
The event was truly beautiful and well-organized. But it certainly wasn't more amazing than the lady in red sitting at our table.
We all ate in silence. No one said a word except for Jimin and Rosé's faint moans at how good the dishes were.
I glanced up at Jennie, occasionally while she wasn't looking. She ate so divinely— gosh, what is wrong with me? Admiring a woman while she was eating.
I do admire everything she does, whether it be her eating, sleeping, cleaning, or even just merely breathing. I could do so for the rest of my life.
After a while, everyone swamped the dance floor. The most outrageous dance moves were performed, it was fun.
But eyes stayed on Jennie, the way she smiled and laughed with her friends, the way she swayed her hips, and the way her hair cascaded on her back.
I watched her intently as she enjoyed herself while I laid back admiring her from afar.
Soon, the music shifted to a more slow romantic song, the perfect song for a dance. Guys started asking their ladies to dance and soon the dance floor became a romantic ballroom.
I started at Jennie as she approached when Jin stole Jisoo from her. He whispered something to her, but she laughed and smacked his arm before walking away.
Upon her approaching, Hoseok stood up and walked towards her. She immediately smiled when he came in front of her.
I looked away; I didn't want to see this. My jaw tightened when I looked back to see them going to the dance floor as she wrapped her arms around his neck, and he placed his hands on her waist.
I gulped down the rest of my wine as I laid back in my chair, watching them like an obsessed psycho.
"Yo, just pull her away instead of glaring murderously at Hobi," Jimin says, slamming his palm on my shoulder.
"Never thought I'd see a Sad-Loverboy Taehyung" Chaeyoung giggles over her glass as she takes a sip.
"More like an obsessive possessive loverboy," Jimin says as they both snicker. Maybe they are right, maybe I should go get what's mine.
I tsked at Jimin before getting up and striding towards the dance floor; each step I take brings me closer to her.
JENNIE
"I might die right now," Hoseok says, "Stop," I scold. Blushing, but when I looked up, he sounded more frightened than flirtatious.
"What's wrong?" I ask him, sweat dripping from his forehead as he stares over my head; Hobi is far taller than me, so of course, I look like an adult- toddler compared to him.
"Here he comes" He chimes nervously, "Who? What do you mean here he—" I say but I got cut off when a hand gripped my shoulder.
"Times up, buddy," He says coldly. His voice is familiar, too familiar, but a murderous threat laced it.
I turn to look over my shoulder to see Taehyung; his gaze- more like a glare is fixated on Hobi, who's shuddering. I could feel the hairs on the back of his neck rising.
Man, who am I kidding? Taehyung sounds like some high society authority figure in the courtroom; of course, that's terrifying.
"Hobi, you don't have to listen to him," I say, glaring up at him; only then does he break his eye contact to look at me.
He put his hand on my hip, pulling me out of Hobi's hold as he stared at me challenging.
"Hobi, please do what's best for you," He says with a grin, and chills run down my spine.
Hobi hurriedly left, petrified. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" I yell facing him as he stares down at me.
"You were dancing with another guy," He says calmly, "I am allowed to dance with another guy. What is your problem?" I ask him.
He's not the only one that's pissed off; I am pissed off too, especially after his stunts and after the whole Kai situation.
"The problem is that you aren't allowed to dance with another guy," He says, this time more seriously as he shoves his hands in his pockets.
"So what now? Are you my father?" I ask sarcastically as I scoff, he stares down at my cleavage before staring back at me.
"No, but you called me Daddy, remember?" He says, oh, he has jokes, huh? I pushed my tongue against my cheek as I stared at him silently.
"I think you are forgetting that we're still in a relationship," He says, stepping closer, my breath hitched.
"Well, it didn't seem like it a few days ago when you were yelling at me instead of giving me a chance to explain," I scoff, stepping even closer, my chest heaving in anger as I recall our previous encounter.
I didn't realize how close we were until I felt his breath on my lips, "I'm sorry love" the word "love" rolled so smoothly off his tongue.
Like it's meant to be heard from him, like it was made for him to say it to me. My breath hitched as my heart fastens.
"You're gonna need more than calling me 'love' Taehyung" I say mockingly even though the name sent the million butterflies in my stomach dancing in joy.
"I know, and I'm willing to do more" He says. "But for now, let me have this dance" he says backing up, straightening as he put his hand out to me.
I stared at him skeptically, "You're impossible" I roll my eyes as I place my hand in his.
"All for you" he says with a smile pulling me closer as I curls my arms around his neck while his palms are flat against the small of back.
The low cut of my dress didn't help either because the soft brushes of his fingers against my skin sent shivers up my spine.
