The Rangers Will and Halt galloped after the two thieves that they've been chasing for weeks on end and they finally caught up with them, receiving their chance to use the newest arrows that they got as a gift from America, a seemingly foreign place that they visited regularly whenever the full moon was out. They could hear the thieves' reactions after their first shot was fired.
The two Rangers waited for their first shot to take effect as they heard the thieves' voices clearly in the space that separated them. "What are those things?" One of them asked. Will and Halt could barely hide their grins as the image of their reactions to the explosive arrows played inside their heads. The other one walked over to his companion, careful of the Rangers that were mounted on their horses only twenty-five meters away. "I have no idea." He said.
Then, suddenly, a loud noise sent their ears ringing for a few moments before they regained their hearing and realized what the arrows were. The one who first spoke was the one to confirm that fact. "They're explosives!" He cried. His companion began to run away from the Rangers as he shouted to his friend. "Run before the Ranger's catch you!" He cried.
The first one hesitated at first, then ran after his partner, occasionally tripping over his own feet as he did so. Will and Halt each selected a regular arrow from their own quivers and fired at the thieves. The arrows landed in the area between their shoulder blades and the impact flung them forward and face first into the ground. Halt looked to Will, who was grinning. widely. He selected another explosive arrow an examine it with care. "Not bad." He said. "Certainly better than setting our arrows on fire."
"Definitely better." Will agreed. "Now let's go get that silver." He said, galloping away toward where the thieves lay with their faces in the earth.
A/N: Hey Guys! This one was inspired by a comment i posted on one of my own stories, called 50 Fiefs to 50 States. I was talking to one of my followers about how people would react if they learned that the Rangers had high-tech arrows. I hope you liked it! Don't forget to vote and/or comment!
