I was walking to my favorite arcade after a volleyball tournament today at my school. We were the last two teams and the game went on forever. The opposing team won. It was a close game and they won by two. It was a hard loss for my team. I wanted to get my mind off of things so I went to my favorite arcade. It was around 9:00 p.m. when the games ended, and that's not a safe time for a 16 year old girl to walk around living in L.A. and all.

Living in L.A., everything was close. The school was next to Buger King, which was close to my favorite arcade. Oldschool Arcade. So it wasn't hard to get to. When I got there it was just me and the guy that worked there. I come here so often that we became friends later. My hair long brown hair was in a ponytail from them game, and my blue eyes were surrounded by blackness from mascara because I was sweeting so much.

"Hey Kenna." Joshua said from behind the counter. I look up at him to see him smiling.

"Hey Josh." I say back smiling.

"How was the big game?" He asked, my expression saddening.

"They won by two points." I say walking up to the counter. I set my volleyball bag down against the counter.

"That's bad, you want some free tokens today? Nobody comes durning the late hours but you, so I can't get in trouble for giving you a couple." He said with a smile. I nod and he unlocks the 'token vault,' as I like to call it. He gave me around ten tokens and I ran off smiling.

"Thanks!" I say as I run to my favorite game, skiball. As I put the token in I heard someone come in the door. I stop before pushing the start button to listen. Hiding behind an old arcade game with my back against it. I listen as the figure came in.

"Can I help you?" Josh asks confused.

"Ten tokens please." I heard the voice say hushly. It was a pretty masculine voice.

"Sure thing! That'll be five dollars." Josh say cheerful. I look from behind the arcade game to say a tall boy with a hoodie on and basketball shorts. He turns around and starts working towards me and the skiball machine. As he draws nearer, I see that he was dark red, shaggy hair and green eyes like emeralds. He looked around my age, maybe a year or two older.

I stand up slowly and walk away from the skiball machine quietly before he could see me. He looked like trouble, and I didn't want to get in trouble this late. I get to another old arcade machine, three from the last one, when he came around the corner to the skiball machines. I quickly and quietly duck behind it. I watch him carefully. He passes the machine I put my token into and throws one of his own into the one next to it.

"Yay, not a waisted token! But, I don't think I want to play with him standing there... No, my mom said to never judge a book by its cover." I thought before coming out from behind the arcade machine. I didn't want to try and make conversation, so I walked up to my machine and pressed start. The skiballs rolled down and the game started. I took a skiball and throw it up the ramp, one thousand points.

"Hey, your pretty good at that." I heard him say impressed beside me.

"Yeah I come here a lot." I say, focused on the game. I grab another ball, another prefect shot.

"How often?" He asks with a chuckle.

"Often." I say looking at him. He had an impressed smile on his face, and all his skiballs weren't touched.

"Are you gonna play your game or keep staring at me?" I asked crossing my arms and leaning on one foot.

"I'll play my game, but you need to teach me." He said smiling.

"Who says I need to teach you?" I ask getting back to my game. Another perfect throw.

"I did." He says grabbing my wrist and looking at me angrily. I look at him and shock, and slightly in fear.
