Anticipation hangs in the air. The sunlight kisses the face of the bright-eyed gorilla through the window of his nest.
Johnny throws on his green long-sleeved shirt with the lightning bolt in the middle. He knows that if he leaves early that he'll be thirty minutes early, but he doesn't care. Putting on his black leather coat without a struggle, he picks up his skateboard, his phone, and his headphones. He plays an upbeat country music on his phone and places it in his pocket of his leather jacket.
Leaving his room a mess of clothes on the floor, he exits and slides down the tree with a bright grin. He lands on his feet in the garage and is about to rush out the red door before bumping into his father.
"Oh, sorry, Dad."
"Oi, boy, where are you running off to in such a hurry?" Marcus asks his son.
"Uh, off to explore the city. I want to, uh, familiarize the streets if I'm going to be the getaway driver."
"Oh, well, be careful of the streets. You'll never know what you'll run into."
"Okay, Dad. Bye! Love you!" Johnny shouts before exiting through the red door.
Marcus quirks a brow in confusion while noticing his son being in a happier mood than last night. "Huh, okay, that's weird."
Back to Johnny, he hops on his skateboard and rides down the sidewalk on his way to the theater.

Ash wakes up in the bed next to Lance, the purple silk blanket covering her naked body.
She is sore all around her body from the imprinted bite marks on her shoulders and the scratches on her sides, but it's worth it if that means that their small argument from last night ended...right?
She stares up at the ceiling as the sun shines through the shutters in the bedroom of their apartment. She thinks about getting up and making coffee. Maybe Lance and her can do something more romantic together instead of making love all the time. But then her mind goes back to the auditions, the very thing they were fighting about yesterday, and she remembers that Mr. Moon chose her instead of her and Lance. Lance is the ultimate artist...the talent...the lead singer. She's just the back-up singer. Why choose her instead of him?
Then she glances at Lance and watches him curl up with his quills to her. With a frown, the words her boyfriend say still ring in her ears.
"I'm not listening to my girlfriend because she wants to sell-out."
Despite the rough love session last night that makes up for their argument, the words put a weight in her mind. Maybe he'll apologize later. Maybe he'll forget all about it since she made it up to him. All of these maybes with Lance.
But the fifty thousand dollars...if she wins that money...she can help make themselves famous. They'll travel all over the world together and sing all of his songs. She just needs to set aside her urge to take over the microphone after she wins that money. For now, she needs to take the reigns and win the money they need.
With this determined thought in mind, Ash gets up and covers herself with the silk blanket. She storms into the bathroom to take a shower and change into her black shirt and red-checkered skirt with black sneakers. After a shower and changing into her casual clothes, she tiptoes out of their bedroom and their apartment while grabbing her guitar case.
