for some reason, jungkook was visibly stressed while he and taehyung were reviewing for an upcoming quiz. the quietness of the library only made matters worse as reading didn't help even a little bit and nothing was retaining in jungkook's brain.
he was in a daze and so many anxious thoughts running in his brain. what felt like an eternity later, taehyung finally looked up and his brows furrowed at the sight of his friend staring into nothing, fiddling with his pen and bouncing his leg at such a fast pace.
"bro, what's wrong?" taehyung asked, worried that his friend finally lost it.jungkook looked up.
"tae, i finally decided last night," he whispered."what?"
"i'll tell namjoon i have a crush on seokjin," as soon as he heard it, taehyung audibly let out a loud 'what?' that made several students look their way. he immediately covered his mouth and sunk on his seat before finally sitting upright and moving closer to jungkook.
"are you deadass right now?" he asked, incredulous.
"yeah, i am being for real right now, dude," jungkook said, "if i look nervous, that's because i really am nervous," he added.
"are you sure about this? because if you are, hell yeah, i'm rooting for ya," taehyung said in another loud voice that made the librarian shush him.
"taehyung, lower your voice," jungkook whispered, "yeah, i'm sure about this. their graduation is coming up real soon and i wanna make sure i confess my feelings properly so i can move on if he rejects me as soon as possible,"
taehyung didn't say anything back and just nodded. he knew that he should let jungkook be and whatever happens, he'll just help him after.
the afternoon sun hit jungkook's skin as he went out of the building, holding his phone. he had just messaged namjoon to meet up with him at the library since during this time, almost little to no students stay there. it was also quiet so they could hear each other better.
he went straight to the other building just adjacent to the one he's been to and went up the stairs. as he was walking around the corner, he almost bumped into seokjin who was with, he assumes, are his classmates. it made him jump as he awkwardly said hello to his seniors.
"oh, hey!" seokjin greeted with a nod, "namjoon told me he was gonna wait for you at the library,"jungkook nodded, trying his best to look normal and not as awkward as he imagines himself to be.
"yes, i'm going now, hyung," he said before briskly walking away. seeing a few students here and there, scattered at the hallways somehow made him nervous that he walked faster, just wanting no one to see and perceive him. when he entered the cold, airconditioned library, he was already sweating profusely. the librarian was by the shelves, putting a few books back. there were students staying and doing something but they were too far away from earshot. jungkook tapped his id on the scanner and typed his student number before entering the reading area. he walked a few more steps before finally seeing namjoon, sitting by the corner. he hurriedly went to him and sat down. when namjoon looked up, he was genuinely surprised."why are you sweating, kookie?" he asked, brows furrowed.
"i ran all the way here," he said and sat down.
"so, what's up?" namjoon asked. jungkook gulped seeing the stern expression on his cousin's face. it made him so nervous he hesitated if he should tell him the truth.
"uhm, so it's actually about me," he started. namjoon nodded, urging him to keep going; to tell him more. jungkook looked straight into his eyes before darting his gaze away and down.
