Love Separated (Sequel to Love Changes)

Preparation

It's been almost a month since I've gotten home and the nightmares still haven't stopped. I can hear Katniss scream at night so I go to her house a lot to calm her down. The bad part is at times even she can't calm me down.

Guess what's even worse. I got a letter from Effie about 3 days ago that she would be coming within the week to help us prepare for the Victory Tour. That is where we go to the other districts then the Capitol. We have to relive our time in the arena and I'm not looking forward to it.

I've been painting a lot to help my nightmares and its helped a little. Once I have a nightmare I will go to the room I have sectioned off in my house that has all the supplies. I paint the vision in my head and sometimes if I'm lucky I never dream of it again. There are times when painting doesn't work and I have nothing else I can do so I just try to sleep through it.

The next morning I went to Haymitch's house with fresh bread like I do almost every other morning. After we got back Haymitch went back to his drunken self.

When I got there I heard Katniss say, "..you should've asked Peeta."

"Asked me what?" I say knowing that I surprised her.

"Asked you to wake me without giving me pneumonia," Haymitch says even though I addressed the question to Katniss.

We ignore him and continue doing what we came to do. I cut him some bread and look up at Katniss, "Would you like some bread, Katniss?"

"No thank you," she replies, "I ate at the Hob."

"Brr," Haymitch cuts in, "you both have a lot of warming up to do before the cameras."

"Which is in an hour so take a bath, Haymitch," Katniss responds walking out afterwards.

"I already did," Haymitch said after her with sarcasm dripping from his voice.

I knew Haymitch was right ever since we've been home I found out that Katniss being in love with me was just an act. I thought she actually loved me but no I was wrong.

That evening around 4 the prep team finally got here. This included Effie, Portia, who I missed quite a lot, and the other members of my team, Gima, Lass, and Serma. They haven't changed a bit since last time I saw them.

They start complaining about how I let my eyebrows grow back and that I haven't trimmed my nails. Portia is the only one with compliments.

"Your hair looks great and it's so great to see you," she says. That definitely makes me feel better.

They get to work right away by starting with my eyebrows. They pluck them till they are red then trim my nails and fix my cuticles. I know that today brings lots of preparation for the coming tour.
