Bruce Anthony Wayne, The Batman
"Alright, Oracle. I see Gerard. I'm going in," I paused as mid-sentence. "now." I tapped the small button on my glove and my long black cape shot out, ready to fly. I jumped down from the perch and blasted my body on top of a man with a ski cap and a rifle. "AHH!" he screamed as I jumped atop him, knee on his neck.
"JOKER! WERE'D HE GO!" I screamed in his face. "Mount Thorin! There's a warehouse on top of it, he said he's there for business!" Gerard Rodriguez, one of Joker's well known associates. I forced my knee down hard, crushing his neck.
"Thorin." I sighed. "Mount Thorin? Isn't that near Ra's Al Ghul's place?" Oracle asked. "Yes. At the bottom of the mountain is The League of Shadows's training facility and barracks. Ra's, Talia and their highest ranking guards stay near the top of the mountain." I told Barbara. "You think Ra's is working with him?"
"Let's hope not."
I turned around and clicked a green button on my forearm. "Oracle, send in the Batpod."
"Already parked outside."
I walked out of the main door in the small building after disabling Rodriguez's weapon. Parked outside was my wide, black two wheeled motorbike with small cannons strapped on the side. "How are the new riot suppressing bullets coming along?" I asked, hopping on the Batpod. "The new and improved riot suppressor bullets are coming along nicely. One Lucius finishes printing out the thick blocks of rubber, they will start production and will be loaded into The Batmobile and Batpod." Oracle said nicely. "Now, Bruce . . . Save Jason."
"I gripped the handles on The Batpod and pulled them back, accelerating the Batpod. "To Mount Thorin."
Mount Thorin, Undisclosed Location in Asia
"Oracle, I can see the warehouse. The siding is boarded up with metal and there is a red sports car parked out back. I'm going in." The Batpod swung to the left, parking. I jumped off the vehicle and walked towards the metal door in the front. "Oracle, front door is locked. I'm going in through the rood." I informed. "Bruce, wait . . . someone is coming from the back. They're heading towards the sports car."
I started dashing towards the car, and from far away I could see The Joker and another man loading into it. "Barbara. I'm going for The Joker." I jumped to the side directly on the Batpod. "Activate remote features." I accelerated forward, zooming in next to the sports car that was going down the hill. "Keep the car next to them, I'm sending in a tracker." I brought out my disruptor gun from the utility belt and a single tracker bullet. The Batpod, remotely driven by Oracle, drove directly next to Joker's car, dodging his swipes.
"Bruce! Now! I can't hold the remote control single for much longer!" I loaded the disruptor and aimed it at the hood of Joker's car. "3...2..." I pulled the trigger, sending a tracker bullet flying into the metal. I threw the disruptor gun back into it's spot on the belt and grasped the Batpod once more.
I quickly turned the motorbike around, but was stopped mid spin and thrown off my bike. The huge, multiple yard long warehouse had exploded completely, sending metal debris flying miles away from the site. A piece of shrapnel lodged into my suit, and the explosion threw me off of the bike. "ORACLE! THE WAREHOUSE!" I screamed.
"Bruce! Don't go in there! I'm sending in the plane, it can scan for bodies!" Oracle yelled. "No! J-J-Jason might be in there!" I spit out globs of smog and smoke from my mouth, and started sprinting towards the explosion site.
I reached the spot where the first bomb went off, and tried to jump and dodge my way through fire fields and debris. And then, I saw it.
My hand went up to my mouth instinctively. "O-O-Oracle . . . no . . . please" I fell down to my knees and felt my eyes welling up. No . . . Oh my god . . . How could I . . .
"Bruce? What is it! Bruce! Answer!" Oracle started yelling. I jumped through the last field of fire and reached what I had seen before.
Jason Todd lay in front of me, not breathing. His eyes were wide open, his face bloody, saliva dripping out of his mouth. His suit suffered severe burns and the extreme red color had been washed away from the explosion. "Jason?" I jumped down next to him, and picked up his whole body. No . . . how could I let this happen?
Jason's lifeless body shriveled in my arms. "Oracle. Send in The Batwing." I mustered my words through my tears.
"It's on it's way. Bruce . . . what did you find?" she asked. "It's . . . Jason," I tried to speak the best I could.
"He's dead."
